The Director, Sales & Marketing Analytics will be responsible for analyzing the marketplace, competitive environment, and future trends, summarizing findings, and generating meaningful recommendations for the brand teams and leadership team. He/she should proactively identify sophisticated methods and approaches to using analytics in support of critical business decisions and actions. This position will help guide brand strategy development and decision-making for Imbruvica upon the synthesis of insights provided by market research and secondary data analysis. He/she will lead a team of about 9 and will be directly responsible for their recruiting, training, and mentoring. This role will report into Head of Business Analytics, Insights, and Operations. Key accountabilities/responsibilities: Overall role: Overall strategic lead and delivery responsibility for Sales, Marketing, and Access analytics functions Demonstrate excellent communication skills and can influence decision making with senior executives including Head of Commercial, Head of Sales, Marketing and Market Access Provide thought leadership and innovation within projects and across subject areas Manage budgets and ensure adherence to budgets Manage analytics relationship with Janssen, our co-partner Champion compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency in process and policies Focus on improving quality and productivity through automation Hire, manage and develop direct reports Develop and implement a training curriculum for team Analytics Depth: Champion and advance capabilities in Analytics and Insights, providing guidance to the team as well as cross functional leaders Conduct analytics projects to inform a range of business issues, including physician and patient segmentation, customer journey and treatment flow analytics, sampling strategy and analytics, all aspects of sales operations – IC, Call Planning, Segmentation, etc. Lead performance reporting and diagnostics, including design and implementation of dashboards and reports Develop and implement analysis that identify national and sub-national drivers behind sales performance including sales trends, market share and customer target plan including segment and priorities Responsible for building insightful regular and ad hoc analyses through creating and managing IDNs, parent child relationship, affiliation analysis, market share (sub-national performance) Viewed as a cross-functional subject matter expert, and sought for advice on decisions that can impact business operations Should have the inclination and ability to do hands-on work and be very close to the data Stakeholder Management: Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Masters/PhD is preferred Previous experience in hematology is required 15+ years of analytics experience, preferably in the Pharma/Biotech industry Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendations Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and significant time pressures Exceptional qualitative, quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and an ability to “tell the story” High motivation, strong work-ethic and positive attitude while working under tight timelines Team-focused manager that invests time and resources to nurture and develop talent, building a diverse and strong group Be a detailed-oriented manager while allowing for freedom and flexibility to the team members Experience with 3rd party pharmaceutical data like IMS/SHS Sales Data (APLD, DDD, Xponent, NSP, NPA), and Specialty pharmacy data.
