Responsibilities

The Director/Sr. Director of Finance will lead and manage the Finance, Procurement and Logistics functions in China/Hong Kong. This Director/Sr. Director of Finance also serves as a key business partner to all China/HK business leaders and as a member of the executive leadership of the region.
  • Leverage strong functional leadership and communication skills to partner with business leaders and provide financial counsel and support for decision-making and in-depth financial and operational analysis.
  • Provide business insights and Identify key business drivers impacting regional results and, where appropriate, develop action plans with group and divisional regional leaders to improve overall financial and operational performance in the region and beyond. Engage on economic and business issues, market trends, and changes in business results to drive achievement of Bruker strategic and financial objectives.
  • Build, lead and manage an insights-driven, high performing finance organization to create sustainable value and support the strategic priorities of Bruker. Actively recruits and develops finance and accounting talent to ensure a strong bench of future finance leaders in the region.
  • Lead and manage the financial, procurement, and logistics functions for the region to meet corporate financial standards related to credit and collections, vendor payments, and related financial accounting.
  • Lead to maintain an effective internal controls environment in the region, including compliance with corporate financial policies covering Sarbanes-Oxley and FCPA requirements.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting to corporate in accordance with corporate policies and China, U.S. GAAP as well as compliance with relevant laws, regulations and standards.
  • Interface with external auditors to ensure that all statutory and tax requirements are satisfied, and tax returns are filed timely and accurately in accordance with applicable laws and statutes.
  • Establish solid working relationships with other leaders in Corporate Finance and Group Finance to facilitate effective Bruker best practice, process efficiency, harmonization and information sharing.
  • Manage and support Bruker compliance and ethics programs in accordance with Corporate standards and local laws and regulations. Provide model leadership and support to the business to mitigate risk, resolve issues and escalate matters appropriately and timely.
  • Organizational responsibility for a team of 23 finance and non-finance employees
  • Supervisory responsibility for four direct reports (Financial Controller, FP&A Analyst, Procurement Manager, Logistics Specialist)
  • Works in a matrix organization with cross-divisional reporting requirements and cross region and functional project management
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years progressive work experience with demonstrated success in a variety of business environments and leadership positions, particularly in multinational or US organizations.
  • Undergraduate Degree in accounting or finance required, Masters’ Degree preferred.
  • Professional certification (CPA/CA) or accreditation issued by a recognized licensed accounting organization, including working knowledge and experience with US GAAP.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Chinese required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience with BPC and/or Hyperion required and with a Tier 1 ERP (e.g. SAP) preferred.
  • Advanced business acumen and judgment. Proven ability to think strategically about business issues.
  • Strong business partnering skills, including high customer support orientation, agility, sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Ability to bridge communication between Corporate, Group, and Regional leadership on policies, strategies, and issues
  • Excellent at workload prioritization, resource management, and project management. Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient.
  • Effective at driving change and managing teams to achieve desired results. Capable of articulating a vision or plan, gaining organizational commitment to action, and managing through others to achieve results. Proven track record in influencing senior management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and presentation skills. Has executive presence and is capable of representing the CFO in high-visibility settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, and capable of gaining commitment and coordinated action for initiatives. Maintains effective working relationships across the company, at the business unit, functional, and corporate level.
  • Demonstrated track record of effective performance management and developing staff and future leaders.
  • Possesses the behavioral attributes of the competencies in the Bruker finance competency model: critical thinking and analysis, business insight, decision making, drive for results, financial expertise, project management and process improvement, people management, collaboration and team work, and influence.
  • Operates at the highest standards of business ethics, honesty, and personal integrity.
  • Maintenance of a valid passport with flexibility for frequent global travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
