CS ML is part of Siemens Healthineers and provides global service part logistics for all businesses within the Healthineers portfolio. Siemens Healthineers CS ML operates a service parts distribution center in Memphis TN along with 38 forward stocking locations located throughout the US. The distribution center is operated and managed for Siemens Healthineers by a 3PL. Siemens Healthineers is recruiting an experienced Logistics Professional that will manage all transportation providers and carriers delivering service parts to the WDC, FSL, and to customers. Position will also be responsible for carries delivering returns to the WDC. Transportation modes include, same-day delivery, express next day, ground, and ocean. This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Director, Transportation Management, you will be responsible for: Designing, implementing and executing of CS ML transportation services with an annual transportation budget of $40M. Playing a crucial role in our comprehensive end-to-end Supply Chain Strategy. This position has accountability within our supply chain for the freight movement of goods from our suppliers to our world distribution center and local distribution center network and to our customers worldwide. Aligning between our global partners, suppliers, distribution centers and customers in delivering on a premium service promise. Maximizing delivery performance across all transportation services by driving the creation and execution of strategies to improve business process productivity, reduce freight costs while improving business profitability and customer satisfaction. Evaluating and maintaining a logistics network that meets the current and future needs of the organization by applying industry best practices with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and scalability. Creating operational plans and financial budgets to execute established strategies. Identifying, targeting, and acquiring the services of the vendors that will support the strategy through operational excellence. Interfacing with key stakeholders in the transportation process including procurement, Export Customs and Control (ECC) and SCM Governance, to maintain policies/standards/procedures and rates with contracts. Creating, monitoring, and reporting on the critical KPI's that measure the performance of the network against agreed upon service standards. Maintaining the integrity of all data flow associated with product delivery and implement process changes that correct deviations from expected results. Driving IT capabilities in own transport network as well as in the forwarders’ network in order to meet and exceed global standards Maintaining cost tracking that accurately improve the overall efficiency of the organization and reduce costs. Understanding and managing risks associated with import, export laws and FDA Regulation. Managing, recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, coaching, and promoting a diverse professional workforce to support the organization’s goals. Combining strong tactical leadership and industry knowledge to execute operational excellence today while providing the strategic vision and industry insight, in alignment with our global partners, that will set the path for the future. Establishing relationships with industry leading logistics service providers and will have direct experience in building new service requirements with key vendors, managing negotiation processes and leading carrier performance evaluation processes. Required skills to have for the success of this role Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain or related field Advanced degree in Business, Transportation, Supply Chain or related field preferred 10+ years' experience logistics / transportation Analytical, as well as strategic thinking required; flexible, creative, process and service oriented. Ability to solve complex process problems creatively while keeping "big picture" in mind. Ability to provide strong decisions with exceptional time management and organizational skills. Good presentation skills in the customer environment and you show team orientation, communication skills and customer orientation. Strong industry knowledge of transportation processes Knowledge of current industry Best Practices in Supply Chain Management, Transportation and Import/Export Experience negotiating transportation contracts and evaluation processes requirements.
