Director, Value Marketing & Strategy (US Remote)

What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! As an integral member of the US Value and Access team, the Director will report to the Executive Director of Value Marketing and Strategy. This Director role is complex and will require an individual with seasoned marketing capabilities, analytical skills, cross-functional and collaboration skills, and highly effective influencing skills. The Director will be responsible for helping to shape Amgen’s US Value and Access above brand marketing capabilities and drive Thought Leadership strategies across the US Value and Access (US V&A) organization. The Director will partner closely across marketing functions and various cross functional partners and external vendors to implement strategy and tactics.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Setting and carrying out marketing strategies for US Value and Access including:
- Identifying key opportunities to develop and drive execution of “Above Brand” tactical initiatives to differentiate and elevate Amgen among customer partners
- Work closely with US V&A leadership teams, brand leads across multiple therapeutic areas and corporate communications to develop deep understanding of customer needs and develop strategy and tactics that align to company priorities
- Leading and driving US V&A thought leader engagements working closely with different functions across Amgen
- Establishing and maintaining relationships at a high level of engagement with key customer segments and associations
- Partner with market research and cross functional collaborators to generate deep payer customer, competitive, and marketplace insights and translate them into defined actions
- Develop and lead value marketing team members to align with US V&A priorities in a competitive and evolving marketplace
- Partner with V&A leadership team to adapt capability to opportunistically support needs across portfolio
- Developing processes for accurate measurement and evaluation of appropriate marketing activities
- Effectively managing agency partners to produce deliverables within timelines and allocated budget
- Leading or serving as a key US V&A commercial marketing member on cross-functional initiatives, often with high visibility within the organization
- Serving as the US V&A Marketing lead for setting and carrying out strategies on executive thought leadership engagement opportunities to ensure centralized efforts are coordinated, aligned and impactful across multiple functions. Operations include (but are not limited to) budget coordination, internal and external thought leader management, key payor Congress and sponsorships, social media development and deployment

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing, sales management and/or payer experience
Or
Master's degree and 8 years of marketing, sales management and/or payer experience
Or
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of marketing, sales management and/or payer experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience with focus on marketing or sales including developing market strategies and carrying out tactics, and responsibility for revenues
- Good understanding of US Healthcare System and key partners
- Track record of increasing responsibility within marketing
- Ability to translate market research findings into useful insights and tactical plans
- Ability to lead and influence cross functional teams with a diverse set of backgrounds
- Written, analytical and oral communication skills
- Ability to deliver state of the business updates and overall strategic direction to senior leadership
- Executive presentation and interpersonal skills
- Expertise in the development and & execution of innovative marketing campaigns which have yielded proven results
- Supervisory management experience
- Understanding or familiarity with the US Value and Access organization, and how it collaborates with other parts of the business
- Ability to effectively lead agencies and other external partners in aligning and developing tactical plans that are aligned with strategy
