The AI/ML director will identify, develop, and own the execution for broad applications within the Centre for Intelligent Power (CIP). You will establish, maintain, and leverage the appropriate business relationships within Eaton, externally to Eaton, and across geographies and sectors, functional to creating and executing the strategy. You will be responsible for understanding problems and opportunities across Eaton's business domains, with an ability to deliver actionable systems through advanced Analytics and Machine Learning. You will help develop and guide the team toward product delivery and the development of high impact algorithms and models – mentoring and developing our teams by actively driving the thought leadership agenda. The AI/ML Director will be responsible for executing and managing Eaton's AI/ML roadmap across its businesses and functions. You will work with your business stakeholders to justify commercializing AI/ML products for diverse Eaton businesses in power electronics, power converters, power systems, electric drives, electromagnetics, numerical modelling and controls. You will also identify opportunities to apply the latest advancements in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to build, test, and validate predictive models leading a team of data scientists. You will provide subject matter expertise for AI/ML and strategic input to projects and ongoing operations. You will be a thought-leader and strategic planner for the design, implementation and direction of AI/ML initiatives. Your positive energy will get business leaders excited based on the ability to drive business impact using AI/ML strategies. You will help lead internal awareness and process for adopting emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning methodologies by executing an effective communication plan. Create algorithms to enable Intelligent Power Management solutions across Eaton's business segments. Deployment of algorithms to production to identify actionable insights from Eaton’s data sets. Comparing results from various methodologies and recommending best techniques to stakeholders. Designing, developing and implementing analytical solutions using various commercial and open-source tools such as Python, R, TensorFlow. Developing and embedding automated processes for predictive model validation, deployment, and implementation. Provide AI/ML leadership and direction to the Digital Transformation organization as it designs, builds and deploys new digital capabilities across businesses and Eaton's value chain. Working across Eaton's portfolio to ensure that the insights created from the AI/ML models are translated into action that makes business impact. Build and maintain a collaborative and impactful external network to drive the continued evolution of Eaton's AI/ML competencies through learning and partnering. Qualifications EDUCATION: A Master's degree in Data Science, Data Engineering is required; PhD preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: A passionate individual who is self-motivated, disciplined, self-assured, performance driven and passionate about digital, AI, ML and data and its role in transforming businesses. 8+ Years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Science, machine learning and simulation techniques 5 years+ Experience working within structured AI/ML and software development life-cycle processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially in leadership to inspire and inform our community to pursue the goals and targets of our analytics strategy - driving impact for Eaton customers and its business. A passion for mentorship, coaching and the development of technical leadership across organizations A Proven track record demonstrates the ability to work with business and digital teams, understand the critical strategy, and design relevant and effective AI/ML/predictive models that deliver significant business impact. Prior background should include hands-on experience with typical AI/ML activities such as feature engineering, feature selection, algorithm and model development. Experience with design, optimizing and implementing neural network/convolutional neural network models, reinforcement learning or Markov decision processes is desirable. Expert understanding of a programming language such as Python, R or MATLAB Track record of business impact and thought leadership through products, patents, and scientific publications. Strong background and leadership in agile development and frameworks. A track record of managing innovation, developing and applying creative solutions to business problems, anticipating situations and needs, and finding flexible answers to new situations. Desired: Recognized as a role model in terms of technical stature. Experience with multiple new applications through new product introductions with proven revenue from new products/services. Can influence, resolve, and communicate significant changes to cross-functional teams across the company. Possesses a broad strategic vision of the company's future products and services. Demonstrates advanced level in all engineering competencies.
