Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Curriculum Development is a passionate educator of young adults who continues to strive to improve the experience for both the learners and team members. The chief functions of the position are to: • Coach debate and public speaking courses between 8 -10 sessions per week (16 – 20 hours of coaching) • Evaluate, revise, and implement curricula for LearningLeaders core disciplines: public speaking, debate, critical thinking, and writing • Develop LearningLeaders debate Capstone program for High School learners. In addition to coaching responsibilities, successful applicants will develop their leadership, project management, and intercultural communication skills through initiating new ventures within LearningLeaders. Examples of recent successful initiatives include: • International Tournaments: Traveling to international debate events (e.g. China, Hong Kong, United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan) • Online Learning: Creation of the LearningLeaders Online LearningCenter • Event Management: Hosting debate tournaments, community service events, public speaking training sessions and forums • Partnership Opportunities: LearningLeaders Summer Camp 2016 with the Yale Law School • Corporate Coaching: Training corporate executives in a Top 10 global advertising agency and Big Four auditing firm on presentation and public speaking skills

SUCCESSFUL TEAM MEMBERS

Above all, successful applicants will demonstrate initiative, integrity, and the desire to inspire. In addition, applicants will be well-positioned to join the LearningLeaders team if they possess: • Passionate curiosity and a love of learning • Competitive debate, public speaking, and/or mock trial experience • Over three years of teaching experience – experience teaching AP US History, AP Euro, AP Psychology is a plus • A track record of impactful leadership positions • Quick wit and a sense of humor • Outstanding linguistic capabilities, both in the spoken word and in writing

TRAINING

We cannot expect our course participants and clients to love learning if we do not. LearningLeaders team members engage in training on an ongoing basis through regular training sessions lead by our own senior trainers.

At LearningLeaders, each team member will participate in a weekly staff meeting, in addition to leadership, management and finance academies where associates will be exposed to fundamental and important concepts. Professional development is at the heart of our team’s success.
