Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced forward thinking, hands on Director for Data and Analytics. You should be passionate about building scalable data & analytics, have good understanding of optimal technology and tooling, and be able to leverage existing data infrastructure to enable cross-functional overviews of customer, product and commercial analytics, to find actionable insights.
You will work closely with the Finance, Commercial and Operational teams to build up-to-date, accurate reports, analysis, and dashboards with reliable data, which serves as a single source of information to support the business make data driven decisions.
You will grow, lead and manage the group data team to ensure they are delivering high quality projects at pace, exceeding our stakeholders’ expectations. You will also develop roadmaps that align with the wider data strategy and stakeholder’s long-term business goals, and drive tangible benefits from data. You will be a talented influencer who naturally spreads enthusiasm with the ability to inspire others to co-create and build partnerships.
You must have direct experience of managing multi-functional or matrix programme or project teams across multiple geographies, and direct experience of balancing multiple projects and business priorities & demands.
Responsibilities:
* You will manage a growing team of analysts and developers and develop the data strategy with a strong focus of growth, commercialisation, and innovation. You should demonstrate an ability to hire, retain and scale diverse and high performing teams.
* Provide leadership in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of the business
* You have a broad understanding of data platforms, databases & tools to advise on best practice
* Working with our Technology team, you will design and implement a modern data infrastructure capable of supporting our desired organizational strategies
* Support transformation activities to simplify architectures, and collaborate with other business teams to deliver intelligent data solutions in line with defined objectives and results
* Develop and own quality and governance standards for data and master data management, build processes to maintain accountability and ownership of good quality data
Skills & Experience:
* Strong problem solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts and determining and implementing effective solutions
* Strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally
* Understanding of client – have a strategic mind-set, ability to gather stakeholder requirements and adapt your thinking and approach to suit their needs
* Analytical thinker with the ability to process information quickly and make actionable recommendations
* Management of teams nationally and internationally
* Strong knowledge and experience in building data visualisation
* Good command of Excel and PowerPoint or equivalents, familiarity with SQL, Python, R and BI software (ideally Sisense and PowerBi or similar)
* Data Modelling experience advantageous
