Director of Engineering and Security

What you will be doing:

• As the Director of Engineering and Security you will be responsible for overall management for the Engineering Department and oversee the Security Department, with the assistance of the Security Manager.
• Training, motivating, developing and coaching of all maintenance and security staff. 
• Must have a thorough understanding of all functions of his/her staff, and be able complete those functions in the Ambassador’s absence.
• Will develop and ensure the fulfillment of preventative maintenance programs to Sofitel brand standards
• Will maintain a current inventory of all supplies
• Will maintain a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders, through HOTSOS.
• Able to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Will monitor all deficiencies, and partner with the GM to determine timelines for completion.
• Ensure routine preventive maintenance on equipment is done, including kitchen equipment, heating, and air condition units, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers, fire equipment and plumbing.  
• Develop departmental budget and operate within budget guidelines. Develop CAPEX needs for all departments with the leaders, and source vendors to complete approved work.
• Ensure that all HACCP requirements are met according to guidelines outlined with Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Outlets Manager

Your experience and skills include:

• Must have knowledge of refrigeration, heating, plumbing, preventative maintenance, guestroom maintenance, lighting, kitchen equipment and all other functions relating to hotel operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft office programs.
• Familiarity with Micros, Opera, HOTSOS and Keywatch preferred.
• Excellent communication both written and verbally. Strong organizational and problem solving skills that will enable you to work autonomously and effectively.
• An ability to work under pressure while maintaining a sense of poise and professionalism. This is extremely crucial and very necessary skill in this role.  
• A can-do, positive attitude that enables, empowers and inspires others. Must be energetic, enthusiastic and have a passion for the hospitality industry. 
• Must have at least 5 years previous experience as a Director of Engineering, preferrably in a luxury hotel setting.
