The Director of Housekeeping is required to have a proven background in housekeeping with demonstrated ability to drive guest satisfaction, financial results and employee engagement. He/she must have the ability to motivate and lead a vibrant and diverse team while managing to the cleanliness and performance standards of the property.

What you will be doing:
- The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for the following:
- Oversees the operational activities of the laundry and housekeeping departments
- Manages budgets according to occupancy and forecasting, schedules staff accordingly
- Implements guidelines, policies, and procedures for their operating departments
- Guides operations and establish a work environment to achieve goals and objectives
- Manages performance issues that arise within the respective operating departments
- Be an integral part of the business team, attends all scheduled meetings and contributes actively with proper preparation
- Interviews, selects, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental employees/managers according to company standards
- Effectively communicates with ambassador
- Conducts a daily briefing with ambassadors on current key activities
- Evaluate changes in guest needs, the guest mix and competitive set, to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes as necessary
- Ensures compliance with local health and safety regulations
- Anticipate and address guest issues and establish proactive processes to promote guest satisfaction
- Be an inspiration to all hotel staff to achieve luxury levels of performance
- Interacts in a positive way with other departments to ensure a luxury guest experience
- Must be an example of the Sofitel Values, brand standards, and a champion of grooming and appearance guidelines.
Your experience and skills include:
Candidate must possess a minimum four-year managerial experience in a luxury hotel along with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent verbal and written English skills; second language a plus, French preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and computer skills. - Experience managing union team
- Previous upscale hotel supervisory experience along with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Must have a strong understanding of operational controls, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling
- Ability to train and develop team members
- Must be a team player and enjoy working on and with teams of people
- Be a champion of Sofitel Values and adhere to the highest standards of professionalism
- Ability to work well in stressful and high-pressure situations
- Requires a mix of analytical and communication skills on a daily basis
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands - Need to keep a good balance between the “urgency” of hotel operations and the long-term anticipation required for the designing the strategy. This position is Not Remote.
