Essential Functions
- Ensure all members of the housekeeping team meet the Hilton standards of cleanliness and quality on a daily basis
- Lead a team of 30-40 housekeeping staff members associates and supervisors
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of all guest rooms and public spaces through daily inspections, training and coaching
- Work with Human Resources to maintain an effective training program ensuring all new employees are properly equipped to execute their jobs
- Conduct department meetings and attend Management meetings
- Instill an attitude in all Housekeeping employees that they are pro-actively responsible for correcting any cleanliness problems they find
- Be responsible for ensuring proper storage, usage and disposal of all chemical agents utilized by the department
- Arrange staff schedules according to forecasted occupancy, and record all incidences, tardiness and absenteeism to the HR Manager daily
- Promote the hotel’s policies on safety and security to all employees, practice key control
- Complete opening and/or closing of department, daily room inspections, room cleaning based on demand and staffing
- Work closely with maintenance to ensure the problems found in the rooms are reported promptly
- Develop, foster vendor relations with supplier representatives
- Handle guest complaints and requests efficiently to ensure the highest guest satisfaction
- Weekly supply inventory and ordering, Quarterly department inventories
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies
- Must be available to work on weekends
- At least 3 years experience in hotel housekeeping, and housekeeping supervisory experience
- Hilton and/or Hampton experience preferred, but not required
