Job Description
The Solution Director is a Senior, experienced global technology and business leader who applies deep industry technology knowledge and best practices to contribute individually and collaborate with global teams of technical product and business development leaders, from Sales and Services to Software, Product Development and Marketing. We are focusing in this role on individuals who possess deep knowledge designing and building machinery and integrated systems that support discrete, hybrid, and process manufacturing operations as the critical infrastructure for all Industries. Preferred candidate should also possess knowledge and experience in Intralogistics equipment design, manufacturing and application in automated warehouse and fulfillment centers. Build the future direction of Industrial Machinery by leading initiatives focused on developing winning software and hardware solutions for the Industrial Machinery industry Define Industrial Machinery solutions that span the full Digital Industry portfolio with a focus on combining engineering and manufacturing software with automation engineering hardware and systems, involving subject matter experts from the field and relevant business segments Create unique solutions that anticipate future opportunities, uncovering and resolving unmet industry needs, by applying software-based solutions to key machinery and intralogistics business processes Establish firm financial foundation for unmet solution opportunities based on best-in-class industry process context and business value justification Collaborate with selected external solution partners to extend Industrial Machinery Digital Industry solution capabilities Support the Industrial Machinery industry go-to-market through industry solution campaigns and field enablement in high priority areas Support definition of Industrial Machinery and multi-industry specific solution messaging and value propositions Collaborate with Industry vertical and Business Unit marketing teams to enable them to create compelling internally and externally facing campaign materials Engage and enable Sales and Strategic Customers Support industry solution go-to-market enablement for direct and channel sales organizations Engage with strategic customers to understand solution requirements Support sale of strategic Industrial Machinery Digital Industry solutions Support global Industrial Machinery industry strategy through providing guidance to Industry Leadership in defining industry strategy and aligning relevant stakeholders in the company. Qualifications include: Engineering degree – Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Software, Manufacturing Operations Management, or equivalent Detailed knowledge of Industrial Machinery and automated manufacturing systems integration business methods, processes, and practices, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills Concentrated experience in designing and building Industrial Machinery, with particular focus on highly automated systems leveraging vast data collection and analytics. Beneficial experience with automated systems with interoperability with independent machines, such as AGVs or warehousing automation. Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering and commissioning teams, in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Design and Engineering, Control Systems / Automation Engineering, Manufacturing, Service & Support, Lifecycle Management and/or Industrial IOT implementation Direct, practical experience with several of the following software technology categories corresponding to Siemens DI portfolio in manufacturing and automation: MCAD, ECAD, CAE, PLM, ALM, Manufacturing Engineering, CAM, Manufacturing Operations Management (MES), Service Lifecycle Management, IOT, Factory and Process Automation Work Conditions / Physical Requirements • Normal office environment. Can work from home, within a 2-hour drive to a regional airport or work from a local office if located in most major cities • This is a global role, and it is expected that the candidate has appropriate freedom to travel in accordance with aforementioned responsibilities • It is expected that candidates are comfortable in customer manufacturing settings, highly adaptive and comfortable in a myriad of manufacturing environments with the physical restrictions typically found in automated manufacturing. The salary range for this position is $136,700 to $246,100 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
