To provide strategic leadership that promotes and supports ministry growth and program quality through the core ministries of Advocacy, Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA), Health, Children In Ministry (CIM) and Design, Monitoring & Evaluation (DME) in National Office and promotes ministry integration through: contributing to National Office’s strategic directions; coordinating the process of integrating development, advocacy and relief programming concepts and practices; contributing to the development and management of new initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Supervisor to the department/unit heads of HEA, CIM, Health, Advocacy and DME
- Participating in discussion and formulation of national strategy, overall leadership and management responsibility and lead in certain strategic new initiatives
- The management of, in remote distance, a group of diversified, experienced and high calibre department heads
- Maintaining internal and external relationship with various parties and government official
- Striking the balance between achieving acceptable program quality and operation feasibility.
- Providing guidance, support, coaching and mentoring to department/unit heads and ensuring a culture of collaboration and communication is maintained
- Establishing working relations with functional teams in the East Asia region
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master degree with the knowledge of the political and economic context of China
- Must have at least 10 years management experience in an international organizations preferably in INGO context
- Field experience in relief/development combined with a technical degree such as agriculture, sociology, education, health, organizational management, etc. Prior working experience in World Vision/other organizations will be an added advantage
- Experience with government relations, and networking with international agencies. Experience in managing donor contacts and relations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an enabling style. Able to work with highly motivated managers, and have the ability to mentor them
- Committed to serve the underprivileged
- Good command of the English and Chinese, both reading and writing. Putonghua speaking is essential
- Good organizational and analytical skills
- Must be able to travel frequently in the Mainland China and internationally
