Job Description
Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail and road – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, intelligent traffic systems, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems. The Director of Operational Performance is a high-visibility strategic partner supporting the Siemens Mobility Leadership Team and Business Units with effective execution and project management of critical initiatives across North America. Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring PM@Siemens knowledge, certification, and standards are coordinated into all SMO NAM business and customer facing project management operations and processes. Duties & Responsibilities Drives, coordinates, and supervises execution of internal projects and initiatives across business units and in collaboration with relevant regional and/or global partners. Facilitates special projects and ensures action items are completed as required and on time. Partners with Executive Leadership on emergent topics, meetings, and deliverables including pulling and consolidating relevant data, analyzing, and summarizing trends and implications, and developing impactful messages and presentations on same. Provides analysis, recommendations, and options to SMO NAM Leadership Team regarding high impact decisions. Develops and handles relationships with key collaborators, including regional, global, and functional executives. Serves as a thought partner and strategic advisor to SMO NAM Leadership Team, participating in meetings, high-reaching ideas, offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly Coordinates and ensures regional adherence to requirements for product safety, quality standards, and compliance with all industry and regulatory technical product specifications. Responds and interacts with corporate & global team members on product safety, quality, and technical product compliance. Defines and supervises appropriate KPIs and improvement targets together with management and functions. Defines and ensures implementation of PM@Siemens Project Management Coordination (PMO) policies for Mobility, NAM. Standardizes the project related governance processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools and techniques. Implements PM and PMO guidelines and processes, and handles respective functional organization. Ensures that SMO NAM overall PMO operations meet all agreed performance goals. Coordinates and ensures adherence of PM policies, guidelines, programs and standards. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Education BS/BA in related field or advanced degree, where required. Demonstrates applied and sophisticated knowledge of project management concepts, practices, and procedures. Demonstrates advanced understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are important. Bachelor's Degree, or Master’s degree, ideally MBA Excellent Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel. Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry and product-related technical information. Ability to travel as the need arises. Provide educational and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers. Demonstrate outstanding oral and written communicative skills. Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills, even while working under time pressures and constant interruptions. Work well independently and as part of team demonstrating support for team decisions Preferred to be an A or B level Certified PM @Siemens Project Manager Any Siemens Mobility location is preferred 10+ years successful experience demonstrating Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
