We welcome you to join Philips as a Director of Operations for our Image Guided Therapy Business (IGT) in Fremont, CA

In this role, you have the opportunity to

  • Lead a manufacturing team with a variety of processes/assembly lines

  • Employ equipment, practices, and procedures which promote a healthy, safe, and secure work environment

  • Effectively identify and manage Safety risks through Site Risk assessment, Operational Controls and Corrective action plans

Your Role

  • Leads the production unit, related processes and staff in the

  • Develops programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the manufacturing organization to the highest level of operational performance.

  • Prepares and executes multi-year manufacturing operation and investment plans to reduce cost.

  • Delivers products on time with high factory and supplier yields and decreasing product field failure rates.

  • Ensures there is an optimum production process as regards routing, supplies and manpower levels.

  • Maintain commitment to environmental and quality regulations.

  • Supervises, selects, develops, coaches and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient manufacturing.

Your responsibilities

  • Acts as Local host manager for other functions

  • Advocates and drives Operational Excellence, initiates and leads improvement initiatives

  • Prepares Manufacturing cost of organization

  • Annual Operating Plan

  • Prepares multi-year manufacturing and investment plans

  • Creates, maintain and ensure expenses and spend within the boundaries approved for the financial budget for the Manufacturing Cost of Organization

  • Ensures proper staffing of competencies required to fulfill manufacturing site deliverables

  • Ensures competency development of workforce is in alignment with changes deriving from improvement initiatives or regulatory changes

  • Ensures adherence to the quality system requirements compliance Optimizes utilization of equipment and workforce in balance with demand and financial targets

  • Initiates and drives Productivity improvements activities through continuous improvements and strategic initiatives

  • Owns and drives Manufacturing site strategic plan

  • Business continuity planning

To be successful in this challenging environment you bring:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Science, or Engineering discipline. Master’s degree preferred or a combination of equivalent job experience in related field.

  • Strong Leadership of and inspiration for direct reports as well as the broader organization.

  • 10+ years’ experience in industrial/ manufacturing

  • Experience in leading manufacturing / production team(s)

  • 7+ years in a management or supervisory position

  • Combination of the ability to think strategically with managing detail. Apply breadth to thinking and observation of environment and others.

  • Expertise and practical hands-on experience with Lean tools. You understand what it takes to create a lean culture to increase productivity through elimination of waste.
