Director of Operations

Fairmont Dallas is looking for a passionate Director of Operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic planning to all operational departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee the operational areas of the hotel, including but not limited to Food and Beverage and Rooms Divisions
  • Lead and support all operational departments in the achievement of their financial and operational targets through establishment of a positive culture, clear expectations and policy & procedural implementation
  • Support the General Manager in the overall management and strategic direction of the hotel, assuming the responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms and Food & Beverage are on time, on target and accurate
  • Actively involved in the recruitment process of leadership positions within the operating departments
  • Maintain product and service quality standards to exceed guest expectations and ensure all brand essentials and standards are in place and executed consistently
  • Champion and support the Hotel’s Service Excellence Committee and Planet 21 Committee
  • Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls and legislation
  • Champion employee engagement and promote a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Ensure resolution of escalated guest concerns
  • Ensure ongoing mentoring, coaching and development of the Operational team & Department Heads
  • Work a schedule that reflects the business levels and needs of the hotel
  • Follow hotel policies, procedures, service standards and safety protocols. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role, within a similar hotel brand required
  • Extensive hotel operations experience required with strong leadership background in F&B division
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget planning and financial controls
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Proven ability to manage change and lead strategic planning efforts
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated success in driving performance 
  • Passionate to grow, and to develop self and others
  • Service focused personality and passion for hospitality
  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders 
  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
  • Driven by Service Excellence

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
