The Client Performance Architecture and Engineering (CPAE) team in CCG has the mission to architect, deliver and drive adoption of Thermal, Power, and Performance solutions to optimize end user experiences within constrained real-world systems. As client systems have become thinner and smaller and as end user expectations around system acoustics (quiet) and skin temperatures (cool) have increased, in many of the client product categories, the system capability has become the limiter of what experience the device can deliver to the end user. With that in mind, the CPAE team engages in every CCG SoC - System on Chip - program from concept through customer deployment to influence the SoC architecture and the systems design to deliver the best possible end user experience. The team works to understand the key usages and experiences of value - per product segment - and their dynamic power requirements. We then develop power, thermal, and dynamic power management capabilities for systems, to match the needs of the key experiences, thus delivering the best end user experience.
The CCG/CPAE team is looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to lead a team of 65+ engineers, technicians, and managers, spread across 4 geos (US, PG, CR and BA), who deliver the Voltage Regulator to silicon (end-to-end) power network design and ingredient solutions for all Client products. This includes activities including 1) Driving the platform level power solution architecture in close partnership with the silicon power architects 2) designing the power delivery network on the platform and package and influencing key power delivery design choices on the silicon 3) Enabling all the power ingredients like - Voltage regulators, battery chargers, USB PD controllers, PMICs, passive power components, etc. - needed to deliver Intel Architecture (IA) based client platform solutions 4) Creating a roadmap of new power technologies being developed internal to Intel and in the eco-system and driving their interception into IA based platforms 5) Monitoring the competitive landscape and driving strategic directions to keep Intel ahead of competition.
The Director of Platform Power Architecture and Engineering (PPAE) within CPAE will require an in-depth knowledge of the Client product roadmap, program requirements and a good understanding of key deliverables across the program life cycle (PLC) from product concept through customer launch. The leader in this position is also accountable for enabling industry and ecosystem partners to deliver solutions that achieve CCG's platform leadership goals. The PPAE Director will interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in silicon and platform architecture, system development, marketing, supply chain, component suppliers, etc. during different stages of the PLC, typically a 2 to 3 year engagement on each program.
