As a Director of Product Management, Digital Customer Experience at Siemens Digital Industries Software, you will be the primary advocate for your digital product and celebrate each milestone hit on the roadmap – both the successes and failures. You will lead the Customer Experience team of product managers, UX researchers and designers, and developers dedicated to building the best, friction-free digital buyer’s journey experiences for our and SaaS customers. In the Director of Product Management role, you’ll be responsible for creating strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders across marketing, sales, product segments, support and customer success, to understand the business needs and define the vision of the experience that exceeds customer expectations. You will partner with business analysts, UX researchers and designers, and developers to define features, capture user stories and then prioritize design and development plans. This is the perfect role for you if you have best-in-class product management skills combined with experience in any of the following areas: websites, complex product portfolios, customer communities, customer advocacy programs, virtual events, physical events, eCommerce or online purchases, start-for-free programs or freemium programs or software trials, marketing demand generation campaigns, marketing automation, personalization, web component services, architectural patterns, omnichannel sales, and/or omnichannel customer contact. A Director of Product Management is expected to: Be the primary contact with stakeholders, starting by understanding business problems and needed outcomes and advocating for the customer Define and champion a compelling product vision both the stakeholders and the UX and development teams can rally behind Capture, document and prioritize the business requirements Develop the product roadmap that informs a prioritized design and development plan Set targets for success and constantly review analytics, the competitive landscape and evolving customer needs Prioritize product features and categorize into key delivery milestones and releases Be one side of a very strong product leadership triangle, with UX and development being the other two sides Communicate – the good and the bad - with stakeholders at all points of the product lifecycle - from requirements collection to confirmation to UAT to release and iterations Plan future features, releases and iterations, based on qualitative and quantitative data A Director of Product Management has these skills: Excellent listener and empathetic communicator Comfortable with healthy tension to challenge status quo and inside-out thinking Comfortable communicating news that stakeholders may not want to hear Able to make hard priority decisions and back them up with reason, data and logic Storyteller and sociable Speaks design language with designers, development language with developers and business language with stakeholders Natural leader of a team of peers that makes consistent progress High emotional intelligence Ability to influence, especially with senior-level stakeholders Highly organized with complex projects and comfortable following a process – sets the example for the team norms and desired behaviors Business savvy and knows how to think of digital experiences as a revenue driver and loyalty driver A Director of Product Management has experience with: Software users and the buyer’s journey and customer lifecycle taken by software customers SaaS products Working in website design, cloud application development and/or marketing execution Being on a team with UX researchers, designers and technical developers Collecting business requirements and developing visions, roadmaps and stakeholder maps Human-centered design (certified through Luma Institute, a plus) Large, matrixed, global organizations with complex product portfolios Driving change inside organizations and/or with customers Continuous delivery (through Agile, a plus) Working across a wide variety of stakeholders with different product, cultural, geographic, language and prior experience biases Building relationships with stakeholders at every organizational level, for example C-suite, VPs, directors, managers, individual contributors, co-ops and interns Being flexible with roles and responsibilities when the team is in need Working remotely with distributed teams One or more of the following areas: websites, complex product portfolios, customer communities, customer advocacy programs, virtual events, physical events, eCommerce or online purchases, start-for-free programs or freemium programs or software trials, marketing demand generation campaigns, marketing automation, personalization, web component services, architectural patterns, omnichannel sales, and/or omnichannel customer contact. Minimum Requirements: 10+ years of leadership experience leading product management teams 10+ years as a product manager and/or equivalent role 7+ years in web design and/or development in Digital marketing, eCommerce and/or customer support/success Expert in at least one project management framework that you know inside and out and would be ready to start implementing week 1 (example: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.) Advanced experience with at least one of the major product management software systems (example: JIRA, Asana, Trello, etc.) Able to travel on average 1 week per quarter Managed at least one digital product for entire product lifecycle – from requirements and vision, through roadmap and at least MVP launch Have a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing (Bachelors or equivalent required; Masters preferred) Employee Benefits • Healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision) • Life insurance covered by Siemens. • Long-term and short-term disability plans covered by Siemens. • 401K matching • Flexible personal time off, including paid volunteer time off The salary range for this position is $159,900 to $287,800 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
