Director of Purchasing
What you will be doing:
- Monitors vendors’ reliability and establishes contact with prospective vendors.
- Updates price quotations of all market list items and provides constant and accurate feedback with regard to market conditions such as product availability, seasonality and price trends.
- Ensures that supplies are procured at best prices while meeting required quality, quantity and date of delivery.
- Provides purchase orders based on purchase requisition and stock situation of the various department.
- Works closely together with the Accounting Department concerning any price discrepancies on invoices and maintains credit with vendors in case of any delay in payment.
- Observes the policies and procedures laid down by Fairmont regarding the corporate identity for purchases of guest supplies, printed matters any other items stipulated.
- Works closely with the storeroom supervisor concerning the minimum stock levels and reordering the stock items.
- Works closely with the Receiving Clerk concerning the delivery and refusal of the purchased items.
- Maintains close working relations with other department heads.
- Responsible for the selection of hiring, supervision, disciplinary, actions and termination of his / her subordinates in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
- Advises the General Manager and Hotel Manager about market information
- Develops and implements effective purchasing procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned by his/her supervisor.

Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum 8 leadership years of experience in Purchasing
- Fluency in English
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all
