The Director of Purchasing (APAC) leads Velocity's purchasing policies, objectives, and initiatives for the entire region. The Director is responsible for growing and managing Velocity's vendor base in order to deliver exceptional experiences and outcomes.

Area(s) of Responsibility
*************************
- Direct and oversee the activities of the APAC Purchasing department
- Develop and manage relationships with suppliers in order to lower acquisition costs and support long-term customer demand
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure achievement of business objectives while ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures
Essential Functions
*******************
- Develop supplier relationships with franchised distributors, OEMs and CEMs, independent distributors, and regional strategic partners
- Lead, coach and mentor APAC purchasing staff
- Develop and execute strategies for the purchasing department
- Establish and drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual purchasing and gross profit objectives
- Escalation for purchase order and VRMA approval
- Meet regularly with management to report on purchasing performance
- Collaborate to support the healthy growth of Velocity's business opportunities
- Live and cascade Velocity's culture, core values, and value proposition to all of Velocity's stakeholders

Experience
- 10+ years of purchasing or other experience in electronic components distribution
- 5+ years management experience
- 10+ years purchasing management experience in industry
- Experience working for US-based company
- Extensive product and market knowledge

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships with other functional areas
