Director of Rooms 

Provides leadership and guidance to the Rooms Division of a luxury resort.

Responsible for the direction and oversight of key Rooms Division departments and their managers to insure quality of service and product, profitability and control costs. Oversees Housekeeping, Front Office, PBX, Reservations, Concierge, Guest Services and Guest Relations. Works closely with Security department as well.

What you will be doing:

• Lead and manage all aspects of the Rooms departments and ensure all service standards are followed with friendly and engaging service
• Handle guest concerns and react quickly, tracking and notifying proper areas to guarantee memorable moments for our guests
• Maximize rooms revenue through participating in yield management meetings and implementing supporting agreed upon Revenue Management strategies and practices
• Ensure all guest opportunities are followed up and completed to satisfaction of resort and guest
• Accountable for the creation and maintenance of divisional budget to maximize revenue
• Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff
• Position requires participation in total resort management as member of the resort Executive Committee

Your experience and skills include:

• Must be proficient with computers, to include spreadsheet and word processing
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative course of action quickly and accurately
• Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
• Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
• Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of particular needs
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
• Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic
• Must have ability to work with others to create attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision. 
• Must have ability to secure minimum levels of skills and abilities that would allow for a proficient job orientation based on specific tasks and methods.  This is to provide a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations that would protect both the employee and coworkers.
• Ability to manage others

• Ability to work evenings/weekends/holidays
• Ability to communicate in basic English
• Driving skills required
• Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
