Job Description
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the room sales team in optimizing revenue from rooms and attaining sales team revenue targets as well as individual goals as assigned.
- Work closely with the Director of Catering Sales to promote synergies between the sale of rooms and event spaces.
- Planning and managing the distribution of accounts for Sales Managers.
- Provide direction and supervise Senior Sales Managers, Sales Managers and Sales Co-coordinators in daily work.
- Monitor the progress of the Sales Team by overseeing group blocks and production from all corporate accounts.
- Review sales manager
- Maintaining and further developing new accounts – SMEs & MNCs
- Identify and secure new opportunities for the team to promote the expansion and penetration of portfolios.
- Lead the sales team to sell hotel room nights to new, existing and prospective customers in line with the goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business.
- Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Delegate and account for proposal presentations, RFP & Stacite/Lanyon responses in a timely manner.
- Ensure S&M projects are meeting deadlines
- Maximize Accor Sales Tools – such as ANAIS/TARS & ResPlus
- Maintains close liaison with Global Sales and Accor network to ensure we receive proper corporate consideration, direction and support.
- Ensure established contacts are continuously updated in hotel database.
- Organizes and attends major sales/ PR related functions within the hotel
- Utilize clients’ feedbacks and provide recommendation to Excom on new trends – ongoing.
- Discuss with F&B and Executive Chef from time to time on service improvement and competitors creativities and trends.
- Provide ongoing sales direction to subordinate staff by implementing the joint call program and providing guidance and direction on the development and execution of customer interviews and action plans.
- Offer the suggestions to Marketing Communications to promote hotel effectively
- Monitor competitors’ activities and assist in market intelligence.
- Contribute and assists in producing the Annual S&M budget plan
- Assists in producing, implementing and monitoring action plans to ensure Revenue Plan objective are achieved
- Assist the Cluster DOSM in weekly & monthly reports, planning, development and implementation of sales & promotional strategies.
- Review daily business levels, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions in conjunction with DOSM to best expedite these situation.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Manages the department’s expenses/forecast
- Plan bonus, commission and incentive schemes for sales managers in accordance with the marketing budget and hotel standards
- Maintain remuneration scales in accordance with financial and marketing objectives.
Human Resource Responsibilities
- Work with other departments and Director of Human Resource to ensure the team performance of staff is productive.
- Provide training module, conducting comprehensive and on – going training to sales team for highest standard performance in the market. Drawing training plan on monthly and annual basis to ensure making the Sales and Marketing team the most competent.
- Duties include:
- Plans for future staffing needs
- Recruits in line with company guidelines
- Prepares detailed induction program for new staff
- Maintains a comprehensive, current and guest focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversees their implementation
- Ensures training needs analysis of sales staff is carried out and training programs are designed and implemented to meet needs
- Conducts probation and formal performance appraisal in line with company guidelines
- Maintains up to date staff records and approves leave requests etc
- Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
- Regularly communicates with staff and maintains good relations
Financial Responsibilities
- Works with the Financial Controller in the preparation and management of the department’s budget. Duties include:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
- Monitor, analyze and report variations from the budget
- Manages the Department’s expenses
- Makes pricing decisions
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Obligation to act responsibly and perform work duties in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety standards
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
