An exciting opportunity has become available for a Director of Sales to join our team in New Zealand. You will be responsible for both driving the sales performance for Hotels within the designated region in order to maximize opportunities and profitability of the business and being the primary point of contact for each Hotel relating to sales activity across all market segments.

 

This role has the opportunity to be based from either Auckland or Christchurch and reports to the Regional Director of Performance - Gold Coast, Northern NSW and New Zealand. 

 

Getting to know the role and your responsibilities

  • Executing sales strategies for Hotels within designated region across all market segments
  • Conduct needs analysis relating to sales of each of the individual properties within the region to determine areas requiring particular focus
  • Act as primary point of contact for Hotels including the coordination and leadership of site inspections to assist conversion
  • Support the loyalty culture throughout the region including recruitment, activation and member engagement initiatives
  • Identify new opportunities for each hotel within region and across the Apartments and Leases business including creation of local footprints
  • Liaise with all regional tourism bodies from the region as the secondary point of sales & marketing contact
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Revenue to ensure ongoing research and analysis of product, price, and performance metrics of the agreed competitive sets in order to drive above market performance through identification of opportunities
  • Develop specific sales action plans by segment for all properties to ensure revenue targets are achieved

 

 

What we need from you

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior hotel sales capacity
  • Experience leading a team to achieve results
  • Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills
  • Understanding of some or all hotel market segments and current trends
  • Understanding of branding and positioning of Hotels within the market
  • Experience in development and execution of sales strategies at an individual property level.
