Siemens Digital Industries Process Automation is looking for a Sales Director to drive order intake and growth for several key business Segments. Process Automation is a growing and diverse business that delivers solutions, products, and services to customers in markets such as Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Water & Wastewater, and Oil & Gas. The Process Automation Sales Director is responsible for managing and driving the sales organization responsible for delivering over $160M of volume for the Process Automation Business Unit within Siemens Digital Industries in the United States. This individual will lead the regionally based group of Focus Account Managers and Channel Partners selling our Process Instrumentation, Automation & Engineering, Solutions and Service to the customer base. This role is responsible for growing market share and profitability across the Process Automation portfolio. A successful candidate will also ensure consequent pipeline measurement, drive forecast accuracy, and continue to develop a well-trained best-in-class sales team. The Sales Director will report to the Vice President & Business Unit Head of Process Automation for Siemens Digital Industries in the U.S. and is responsible for ensuring close alignment and joint target setting with the business segments served. Responsibilities The Sales Director will drive overall topline for the Process Automation Business Unit. This includes developing and implementing sales strategies, negotiating with partners, and training and developing both internal and external sales management and personnel to be best-in-class with respect to all Siemens offerings. The position will require exceptional intrapersonal, communication, team, and networking skills to ensure long-term success. Successful candidates will lead with energy, a sense of urgency, and clear direction, following ethical practices and putting Siemens principles at the center of all activities. In addition, the Sales Director will collaborate closely with Process Automation Business Segment Managers and effectively leverage resources within the Segments to drive customer development, train personnel, and successfully win sales opportunities. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Develop a strategic plan to build profitable order and sale volume, including which customers and verticals to target. Ensure the appropriate channel partners are in place. • Align sales resources to best support targeted market segments. • Proactively work across other Siemens organizations to leverage complimentary resources, solutions and or channels to obtain profitable growth and market share. • Develop talent of Regional Sales Managers and Sales Professionals • Provide leadership and drive sales process development. • Ensure systematics are in place to drive the development agreed annual business plans for each channel representative and ensure consequent measurement and tracking. • Grow the PA business YoY sales and revenue for all target business segments. • Forecast and manage sales activity and pipeline to meet order intake and revenue targets. • Directly participate in closing deals with target accounts. • Develop and drive business initiatives for future success. • Leverage industry expertise, customer knowledge and available resources, to drive credibility and confidence with the channel partners and customers. • Travel as much as 50-70% of the time as required to support Regional Sales teams, Channel partners, and End-customer discussions. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • Bachelor’s degree • 10 plus years of sales and sales channel management experience with proven record operating with multiple channels to market including: direct sales, distributors, solution providers, and manufacturer’s representatives. • Knowledge of process industries including Chemical, Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Mining and Cement industries etc. and the processes, applications and solutions required by customers. • Excellent track record of establishing strong customer relationships. • Understanding of Process Automation and Instrumentation and the industries where these products are used, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Mining and Cement industries etc. • Experience managing both Individual Contributors and Managers of People and team sizes of larger than 20. • Demonstrated success pursuing agreed to sales quotas ($100 M+), long term goals and short-term objectives using creativity and understanding of financial implications. • Respected and trusted leader with a proven track record of achievements, solid technical skills, and proven ability to manage diverse teams. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including skill in delivering persuasive presentations in a variety of settings, ranging from customers to board/senior management level.
