The Mission

The Sales and Service Division (SSD) of MSD EM is charged with selling and servicing MSD EM products in geographical territories worldwide. The SSD Organization serves as the primary MSD EM contact to both potential customers and current customers alike, providing a range of value-added products and services and maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

The Position

Reporting directly to the Senior Director-APAC Science Sales & Service, the Sales & Service Director is task of growing the Company revenue through direct customer interaction, representing the Company in front of the customer and providing communication interface between customers and the Company, assuring information inquiries are promptly resolved, and using marketing tools and direction available from the Market Divisions to proactively communicate the value of MSD EM solutions to the market segment.

Other responsibilities include developing the sales strategy, in conjunction with the managing sales activities in SEA, ANZ and India, driving sales strategies through the local Account teams, providing leadership and influence to subordinates or peers and ensuring the achievement of bookings, revenue and business goals.

Responsibilities and deliverables include:

Own all sales/ account management responsibilities of specified MSD EM products relating to Science and SemiconductMarket including resolving any issues.

  • Define, align and implement Account Strategy
  • Manages the channel strategy for the Area, and ensue the organization is ready for scaling at all times.
  • Maintain accurate quarterly booking forecasts.
  • Manage ‘roadmap to PO’ using structured selling approaches such as Miller-Heiman and ensure proper communication throughout the company on the status of all accounts followed up.
  • Understand all budget issues at each customer and take strategic action.
  • Confirm all system configurations, specifications and acceptance conditions are appropriate for closing orders.
  • Manage strategy and tactics of all sales for defined products in close cooperation with the Business Unit owners ,local account teams and Service teams.
  • Ensure and follow up user satisfaction in cooperation with the local account, service and application teams.
  • Manage system demonstrations by working closely with application engineers and product marketing managers.
  • Manages the continuous process of identifying and nurturing the opinion leaders in the markets served
  • Manage the sales booking process.
  • Manages the teams to ensure revenue recognition in line with targets
  • Manage product issues in the field by working closely with the service group and application engineers for solutions.
  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company modeling the company 4i values. Builds a great working environment for the employees. Attracts, develops, retains, and motivates the talent needed to be a world class, high performing team.
  • Is aware of and ensures the business is managed with high ethical standards and follows compliance regulations strictly.
  • Identifies competitor's activities.

Experience / Other Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • A university degree is typically required, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills.
  • Typically requires 5-10 years of experience
  • Systematic problem solving by working with customers and account team.
  • Good knowledge of electron optics and the application fields
  • Presentation skills and creating materials for presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to work in good cooperation within an account team.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and factory locally and internationally
  • Has or is willing and capable to acquire a profound knowledge of the local culture, political situation and business culture of the countries in his/her territory.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively interact at a senior executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep customer relationships and credibility, to gain insight into customers’ requirements
  • Extensive experience in developing, proposing and negotiating effective business agreements, including sales agreements and contracts.
