What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will lead a multidisciplinary group of software engineers delivering services to all divisions supporting their software development and cloud enablement work. You will continue to build, improve, and operate Amgen’s custom DevSecOps platform and cloud provisioning infrastructure. Job Responsibilities

• Lead multiple highly technical teams including software application engineers, DevOps engineers, SREs, test engineers and provide mentorship to team members to empower the team.
• Provide executive leadership and vision to the team's product owners and help define and drive communication of the technical vision/roadmap to all Stakeholders across Amgen which will ultimately translates into building solutions to advance innovation at Amgen
• Provide thought leadership and ownership of software engineering, cloud provisioning and management, and onboarding new technologies as you coordinate with Amgen domain experts and key functional partners to deliver groundbreaking services for their business needs
• Work seamlessly with Security, Infrastructure, Quality, and other critical teams to build unified services which integrate their standardized methodologies into end-to-end services for our business customers
• Identify and manage preferred technology vendors, introduce solutions that meet business objectives, and lead POCs which drive new end-to-end solutions for Amgen
• Refine and improve current team SDLC processes, team structure, continuous delivery, automated testing, and build business justifications for new services.
• Continue building a strong culture of high-quality engineering practices, continuous learning, and growing multi-functional collaboration
• Provide leadership and expertise to your teams who own, design and run Amgen's DevSecOps, monitoring, and cloud management platforms

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Software Engineering and Cloud Automation professional we seek is a leader with these qualifications.

Doctorate degree and 4 years of IT experience

Or

Master’s degree and 8 years of IT experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of IT experience

And

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability building and leading large software development teams who have designed and delivered commercially shipping software product or services
• Solid system design and architecture experience. Experience leading agile development and delivering object-oriented systems with high availability.
• People management experience building strong technical teams and leading managers. Show a passion for people management and mentorship.
• Possess a deep knowledge of software development, build processes, languages, and related services (for example, Objective C, C++, Java, messaging protocols, identity and security, and web services)
• Experience designing and delivering production cloud solutions, virtual and containerized platforms, and running operational management practices and frameworks
• Shown success collaborating with the multi-functional teams to drive customer satisfaction, exceed customer expectations, and create and implement business plans to accelerate the adoption of new services
• Strong verbal/written communication and inter-personal skills
• Understand security, risk and compliance frameworks, disaster recovery, high availability architectures, hardware, operating systems and networking connectivity
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and being consistent and measured while working under uncertainty.
• Experience with data modeling, ML/AI will be a plus
