Position Overview: Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Director of Supply Chain for our Power Components Division (PCD). This position will be based in our Moon Township, PA location. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations, this role will have Supply Chain Management (SCM) functional responsibilities for the PCD Division ($750m, 2800 employees in the Americas). This person will serve as a leader between the Divisional Sites and Division leadership. This person will supply leadership and support in deployment and execution of SCM strategic initiatives and related Eaton Business System (EBS) tools to support key business strategies and related objectives. This person will lead deployment of these SCM strategic initiatives and ensure EBS tools are aligned with the critical needs of the business. The person will also focus on building organizational capability and talent development within the SCM organization. Essential Responsibilities: Set direction, plan, and execute supply chain strategy for the PCD, including purchasing, inventory control, storeroom management, selection of traffic carriers, and trade management Partner with division leadership on SCM strategy development and effectively deploy related initiatives in the businesses and sites to ensure improved performance and alignment to key business factors Manage supplier cost, quality and delivery objectives for the division and provide leadership in the development, implementation and deployment of strategy Ensure strong strategic supplier relationships, contracts and optimized supplier quality, delivery and cost that lead to mutual long-term growth and profitability of both Eaton and our suppliers Develop strategies for lead time reduction to include supplier localization and consolidation for both efficiency and cost Manage internal supplier relationships and processes to drive optimized quality, delivery and inventory performance across the inter-unit value chain. Coordinate SCM activities and strategies between divisions to promote sharing of best practices and standardized processes Lead division/plant SCM managers to ensure the manufacture and distribution of high quality/on time product that meets and/or exceeds the expectations of both external and internal customers Drive SCM continual improvement and goal development across the division. Work with sites/plants on effective action plans to meet objectives Lead continuous improvement efforts in supply chain processes leveraging the Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) and Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) tools. Ensure tools for inventory management, SIOP, sourcing and supplier resource management are deployed and sustained to optimize the use of material providing maximum production efficiencies with minimal levels of inventory. Partner with businesses and IT as SCM lead to improve MRP/ERP functionality Support new product introduction initiatives by managing the supply chain elements of ProLaunch and participating on global gate reviews. Drive all Cost Out categories and work with divisions/plants to achieve Cost Out objectives Lead the division’s cost savings program, managing all elements of cost savings in Sourcing, VA/VE, Factory Productivity, Logistics and Distribution. Position Criteria: Ability to move from entire value streams to individual parts Coach, demonstrate and drive continuous improvement processes so problems are solved closest to the point of operation, and larger issues are highlighted for additional resources for corrective action Demonstrated ability to lead and delegate responsibilities to a cross-functional team in the development and implementation of initiatives across finance, operation, sourcing, materials, people leadership Demonstrated ability in strategic process creation and implementation Strong background in goal deployment, process management and building organizational capability Demonstration of ability to lead and influence in a matrixed organization Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Supply chain role Minimum 2 years’ experience using an ERP system Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SCM program and commodity management functions. Experience with global sourcing and supply base management Demonstrated root cause corrective action approach to drive continuous improvement Greenbelt / Black belt / Lean Expert certification Track record of successful implementation of large-scale distribution/inventory management strategies for a large manufacturer Proven ability to present complex ideas to all levels of a corporate hierarchy as well as external customers and suppliers Ability to work within and influence cross-functional teams and senior business leaders. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in MRP, JIT, Six Sigma, Lean Mfg., Kan Ban, and Vendor-Managed Inventory. 5 years’ experience in materials area. Capable to manage SCM under a high mix low volume environment.
