Director of Talent and Culture

As an active member of the Executive Committee, the Director, Talent and Culture will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Talent and Culture Department of Raffles Bali. This position is also responsible for assisting with the design and implementation of the Hotel’s talent and Culture strategy to position the Hotel as the employer of choice in the local market.  The Director, Talent, and Culture will actively participate as an HR consultant and be heavily involved during the pre-opening of the Hotel by developing and implementing talent and Culture programs in accordance with established Company policies, practices, and procedures, as well as ensuring a strong focus on selecting and retaining the best by managing the recruitment and selection of talented colleagues.

What you will be doing:

  • Establish and execute the recruitment plan and implement Raffles Hotels recruitment practices.
  • Coordinate mass recruitment and campus recruitment.  Recruit and hire in keeping with established manning guide
  • Manage the TC pre-opening budget and TC  Critical Path
  • In conjunction with the Regional Office and Director, TC, Hotel Openings & Integration, establish a benefits scheme to be competitive within the hotel industry in the local market
  • Train the local TC team and coordinate and implement employee training programs throughout all divisions, such as orientation and leadership training
  • Implement Raffles Hotels core Colleague programs
  • Coordinate OS&E and set up colleague facilities, such as colleague dining facility, locker rooms, and resting areas.
  • Process visa applications for expatriate staff, if applicable
  • Implement Raffles TC standards, policies & procedures, and create local standard operating procedures and the employee handbook
  • Actively participate in the strategic planning and ongoing development of the hotel, ensuring the delivery of our environmental commitments, overseeing the health, safety and security of our guests and colleagues
  • Lead and support all departments in the achievement of their financial and operational targets via effective organizational development, policy and procedural development, and appropriate colleague training activities
  • Clearly demonstrate to guests and colleagues a commitment to service excellence through the effective implementation and delivery of Raffles Hotels Core Standards at all times
  • Foster a winning, solution-oriented work environment, motivating and engaging colleagues to continuously deliver the best possible service to our guests
  • Assess organizational needs, develop aligned TC solutions, and implement strategies in the areas of employee relations, compensation and benefits, recognition, TC administration, health and safety and colleague wellness
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of the Talent and Culture  office, focusing on maximizing the capabilities of the team by reviewing the coordination of initiatives and activities and providing regular coaching and performance development opportunities

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous knowledge and experience in Indonesia, and a strong understanding of local market employment conditions, is preferred
  • 4 years’ experience as a Director of Human Resources.  
  • University/College degree in a related discipline
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Indonesian is preferred
  • Self-confident, creative and proactive, able to prioritize and make effective decisions
  • Ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to gauge talent and a candidate’s potential fit within in the company culture an asset
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy a must, with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
