We are looking for a new Distribution Manager

secondment role Nov 2021 – Jan 2023

Global Logistics has approximately 165 employees, based in 39 different countries across the world. The Logistics Team are responsible for leading the distribution of all products, delivered through +1200 routes around the world. That’s 100% of AZ’s commercial shipments between points in the supply chain, from international freight logistics right through to in-country distribution; getting medicines from factory to customer.

The role:

You will be responsible for management of  Distribution services from a complex regional Distribution Hub (Budapest, Hungary) to various CEE Countries, ensuring the delivery of customer service in compliance to GDP standards.

Key accountabilities:

Main responsibilities:

Logistic customer service for 11 Marketing Company office (15+ markets)

  • Plan and agree delivery schedule with AstraZeneca  Marketing Companies
  • Monitor outbound orders including sales order/delivery creation, interface communication, dispatch, customs and delivery to customers
  • Monitor temperature performance of outbound deliveries
  • Investigate any On Time failure
  • Own and maintain logistic complaint tool
  • Track and investigate logistic complaints using lean problem solving
  • Arrange return
  • Support sample / donations orders/deliveries
  • Participate on various S&OP meetings and present logistic service performance

Stock risk management

  • Lead and coordinate stock review process with relevant functions (short shelf life and blocked stock)
  • Arrange stock destruction
  • Provide monthly stock provision

Reporting

  • Quarterly report on destruction details to Indirect Tax team
  • Monthly outbound KPI report
  • Daily dispatch control report (SOX)
  • Support monthly stock reconciliation process (investigate discrepancies)

Route Risk Assessment:

  • Coordinate review process of Route Risk Assessments (30+)

Supplier management

  • Arrange / lead weekly complaint review meetings with Logistic Service Provider and Freight Forwarder
  • Arrange / lead monthly “Sales order to cash” review meetings with external provider.

Back up of Logistic Specialist CEE role

General Accountabilities

  • Monitors and maintains compliance to current Good Distribution Practices, Safety, Health and Environment and Sarbanes Oxley business procedures, raising and addressing problems as they arise
  • Conduct activities and interactions consistent with Company values and in compliance with the Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards relevant to the role. Complete all required training on the AZ Code of Conduct and supporting Policies and Standards on time. Report potential issues of non-compliance.
  • Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties by (a) positively reinforcing the Code of Conduct and all relevant AstraZeneca Policies and Standards, (b) ensuring completion of all required training, (c) fostering a culture of openness in which employees are comfortable raising questions or concerns, and (d) immediately

addressing and reporting, as appropriate, instances of non-compliance.

  • Ethical Conduct and Compliance, Team Management, Performance Management, Individual Development Planning,   Talent Management, Recruitment, People information, SHE accountabilities, and Fiscal and Financial awareness.
  • Understand the legal and regulatory requirements of the role in providing appropriate resources (which could be human, financial, material, facilities, and equipment) to maintain the Quality system and continually improve its effectiveness.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree – equivalent experience will be taken into account

We prefer:

  • Professional qualification in distribution
  • Customer Service or Management experience
  • International experience

Experiences:

  • Life Science Industry experience, > 2 years in GxP regulated environments
  • Knowledge of Logistics Industry, especially in the area of international distribution of pharmaceutical products

Personal skills:

  • Analytical capability
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team coach

Languages:

Essential: Fluent English,

Computer skills:

  • Experience in global enterprise resource planning systems (i.e. SAP, WMS & TMS)
  • Advanced in MS office
