Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking a Distributor Sales Representative to join our team. This is a home-based position where candidates must reside within 50 miles of our Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Columbia, SC; Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL or Orlando, FL location. Relocation assistance will be offered. Position Overview: The primary function of the Utility Distributor Sales Engineer is to support the sales team in the management of all regional utility channel partners to increase sales & share. This position will be responsible for interfacing with assigned regional distributors by providing sales support, data analytics, regional channel strategy, inventory management, training, product promotion and pricing strategy, as well as problem resolution. The primary functions include but are not limited to providing customer support in the areas of product capabilities, claims and billing adjustments; achieving sales goals and executing sales plans within an assigned sales territory and/or accounts; utilizing established relationships with plants and sales engineers, manufacturers representations and application engineers to develop and implement the strategic growth plan; support total quality efforts by providing timely and accurate information for order entry, elevating quality issues to attention of management; collect, analyze and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preference and buying habits; and inventory and promotion management. The role will also help provide sales support for management, outside sales engineers and internal/external customers in providing effective solutions to challenging problems involving technical, service, and commercial issues in the Eaton Utility Sales Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting sales team in winning & growing share of Distributor stock blankets, renewals and daily RFQ’s based upon technical & market knowledge. This role supports distributor relationships in both public power and IOU markets, positioning Eaton as a preferred partner, optimizing sales volume, product mix, profit margin, and growing share with assigned products. In this function you will: Offer sales support, data analytics, regional pricing strategy, training and inventory growth initiatives for all regional utility distributors Provide technical assistance & training for distributors on new products, e-commerce, pricing and inventory tools Manage Eaton’s utility advantage marketing plan for assigned distributors Support national utility channel director with key initiatives and national channel relationships Coordinate channel strategy, growth initiatives, and sales meetings with direct sales team, application engineers, manufacturers & representatives Develop distributor strategy with key supported product lines When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum one (1) year of sales, sales support or marketing experience within the electrical industry Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Strong electrical industry and product knowledge Distribution knowledge and/or experience Strong product line knowledge Position Criteria: Ability to learn/teach electronic/computer processes Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to resolve conflict effectively Ability to establish and build customer relationships within the market area Eaton electrical product, service, and market knowledge Possesses presentation, training and planning skills Organization and project management capabilities Ability to travel up to 25% We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
