Eaton Corporation’s Bussmann Division is currently seeking a Distributor Sales Representative. This position is remote and the territory will include Chicago, Southern Illinois, Indianapolis, and Dayton. Position Overview: As a Distributor Sales Representative, you will manage and demonstrate strong knowledge of the assigned channel partners within Indianapolis to increase sales in the local marketplace and provide sales and technical assistance. You will directly interface with distributors by providing a variety of sales support and administrative services in inventory management. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you. In this role, you will: Manage a territory that is very dynamic in terms of distributor complexity, volume of locations, and territory size. Partner with the regional sales director, sales engineers and application engineers on a territory channel strategy and plan each year; and effectively execute this plan against set targets. Continuously support customer issue resolution. Make recommendations to management to increase effectiveness of initiatives and programs. Track and measure distributor growth using sales reporting tools and reviews stock levels with each channel partner on an ongoing basis. Strategically evaluate and optimize inventory at assigned distributors to ensure adequate inventory levels of standard product to maximize sales and make recommendations on product changes, layout changes, and stock levels to optimize Bussmann’s position. Independently develop and implement action plans targeted at YOY growth and agreed performance levels. Make recommendations to management regarding potential challenges or issues on a case-by-case basis, offering solutions and pro-actively scheduling joint sales calls. Train distributors on how to use internal programs such as Order Center, Fuse Selectors and Eaton’s Distributor Advantage Program. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of sales experience. All candidates must live in Illinois or Indiana. No relocation will be offered for this position. Active Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Distribution knowledge and/or experience. Strong key channel relationships and demonstrates knowledge of major accounts within the sales territory. Understands sales process and channel relationships with limited internal oversight. Position Criteria: Ability to learn/teach electronic/computer processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to resolve conflict effectively. Ability to establish and build customer relationships within the market area. Eaton electrical product, service, and market knowledge. Possesses presentation, training and planning skills.
