Job SUMMARY: The Neurosciences and Urology District Manager leads the sales performance and professional development of a team of Account Specialists within an assigned geographical area, that are focused on the BOTOX® therapeutic areas of Chronic Migraine, Movement Disorders (Spasticity and Cervical Dystonia), and Urology. Supported customer accounts may include community/private practices, community-based hospitals, academic medical centers, military treatment facilities, and Veteran’s Affairs Medical Centers. The District Manager cultivates relationships with key opinion leaders and other identified account stakeholders while also developing internal relationships across other teams, divisions, and departments to maximize utilization and effectiveness of all available Allergan resources. The District Manager drives sales performance, executes business objectives, and develops his team of Account Specialists through live sales meetings, conference calls, field co-travels, and annual performance reviews. The District Manager ensures that promotional sales and marketing initiatives, along with all other DM and Account Specialist responsibilities, are executed in a legally compliant manner. Supervisory responsibility: The Neurosciences and Urology District Manager is responsible for hiring, developing, promoting, and managing the performance of a team of 6–11 Neurosciences and Urology Account Specialists. The Account Specialists report directly to the District Manager and are responsible for the promotion of BOTOX® therapeutic indications within an assigned geographical area. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: % of Time or Importance Responsible for assigned geographical district achieving/exceeding the Neurosciences and Urology sales quotas and other MBO’s established by management and in alignment with U.S. Sales & Marketing Plans, within expense, compliance, and legal guidelines. 35% Consistently perform as a leader that exhibits team leadership qualities and executes responsibilities, resulting in the ability to attract talented individuals and develop, inspire, supervise, and retain or promote direct report team members while also influencing/mentoring other individuals throughout the organization. 20% Continually analyze the team sales and business processes to uncover business needs, then develop/execute a plan that will provide tactical direction, evaluate progress, measure results, and monitor the success of the plan, resulting in improvement of team, regional, and national sales performance. 10% Collaborate and develop strong professional relationships with key customers and internal partners to ensure that all appropriate Allergan resources are being utilized to address customer needs and improve sales performance. 10% Meet the established regional and national productivity and administrative requirements, in order to maintain/improve operational effectiveness and efficiency that contribute to the overall support and success of the sales and marketing strategy. 10% Manage a district budget, including individual allocations for program and training opportunities, redistribution of funds as appropriate based on business needs and expense approval for direct reports. Supervise the tracking and distribution of FDA regulated sample products to health care professionals. 5% Provide direct feedback and manage/facilitate direct report communications/feedback to appropriate corporate partners and departments regarding the execution and reception of marketing and other company initiatives. 5% Complete knowledge, understanding, and the ability to assess/coach and execute the Chronic Migraine, Movement Disorder, and Urology indications anatomy, procedure, and injection trainings. 5% Qualifications job QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher is required Documented history of driving strong team performance and individual coaching for growth and development of individuals Minimum of 8 years total business experience in health care, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology Minimum of 5 years documented history of successful consultative sales experience with high reimbursement components Minimum of 3 years management experience with high reimbursement components preferred Minimum of 2 years selling and/or managing within academic medical centers and/or government hospital accounts, including work with residents, fellows, and/or pharmacy managers Experience selling and/or managing Buy & Bill, Specialty Pharmacy, Medicare Part B, and Medicare Part D products is required Experience selling within any of the following specialty areas is required: neurology; physical medicine & rehabilitation; pain medicine Knowledge of and experience with legal/regulatory compliance requirements related to the pharma/biotech industry Proven history of market/business planning to develop a strategy and the ability to successfully execute/lead a team to successfully execute the strategy Ability to commit to 50% overnight travel Experience managing expense budgets for self and team Valid driver’s license Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies Excellent verbal/written communication skills Servant Leader mentality with an ability to put the needs and development of the team and others first, in order to help them perform as highly as possible and drive sales performance Strong desire to “explore the unknown” and continuously enhance personal, professional, and account/industry knowledge Strong interpersonal skills to establish positive and productive team, peer, and customer relationships Excellent business acumen, analytics assessment, and critical thinking skills Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills Excellent ability to business plan and execute strategy Strong presentation and facilitation skills Strong negotiation/problem resolution skills Ability to be humbly confident Ability to observe and coach effectively Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a large geographical territory and multiple direct reports Ability to learn technical anatomical, procedural, and clinical information quickly Ability to communicate/present/train/assess and coach technical anatomical (postures, muscle function, muscle attachments, muscle localization), procedural, and clinical information Ability to maintain effectiveness and positive outlook during changes in work tasks, structure, or environment Ability and willingness to meet necessary hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements Ability to travel adequately to cover district territory commitments/co-travels, and attendance at scheduled training events, sales meetings, and other Allergan events Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements Significant Work Activities Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day) Travel Yes, 25 % of the Time Job Type Experienced Schedule Full-time Job Level Code M Equal Employment Opportunity At AbbVie, we value bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to develop new and innovative solutions for patients.
