Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is hiring a District Operating Center Supervisor to join our team. This position will be based out of our Mississauga, ON facility. Position Overview: Under the direction of the District Manager, this position is responsible to provide and coordinate field service engineering, technical assistance, scheduling and sales support direction to FSR’s and customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems. In this function you will: Directly supervises field service technicians in the Central and Northern Ontario regions to ensure that staffing requirements are met for all jobs. Participates in the commercial review, including back-log management. Deliver technical solutions to customers; performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent (find gaps and follow action plans to fill gaps), training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies. Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention within the district. Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Participates in strategic planning to support market growth. Maintain and grow current relations with existing customers, as well as focusing on growing new relationships with other municipalities, consultant firms, contractors and distributors. Acts as a technical mentor and back up for field personnel. Ensures strict compliance with safety policies, trains and implements safety programs, ensures safety equipment resources are available and properly tested, acts as a safety liaison with customers, ensures proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Qualifications Basic (Required) Qualifications: Red Seal Journeyman Electrician or Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering 5 years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems Experience with directing and supervising a technical field service team and prior sales experience. Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical equipment Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Legally authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: 8 plus years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems Ability to provide leadership skills to FSR’s; support sales, profit and growth goals, while continually improving quality and customer levels. Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
