Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking a District Project Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Grapevine, TX location. Relocation assistance will be offered. Position Overview: The Field Sales Project Manager will be involved in both the technical (electrical/mechanical) details of project orders as well as effectively manage the timelines of deliverables for his/her project orders. This position will collaborate with the field sales team on projects while working independently on daily tasks. The individual will need to leverage centralized resources to manage documentation and commercial requirements. The goal is to create value for our customer and establish the project order management process that enables the successful completion of light commercial projects. In this function you will: Manage the assigned light commercial project orders to create value and improve the financial position for Eaton and our customers Organize and lead order transition meetings with field sales, project coordinators and manufacturing facilities for all assigned projects Apply project management methodologies and strategies to support both the financial aspects and timeline of assigned project orders. Review project specifications, contracts and order specifics prior to order entry ensuring technical accuracy Manage technical changes to the bill of material Coordinate and interpretation of plant drawings Leverage centralized resources for the creation of documentation packages and perform reviews of these packages as appropriate Provide technical support and follow through on warranty issues Represent sales at customer witness tests, inspections, and on-board approval meetings/visits Ensure that accurate information flows to and from the customer in a proactive way. Review quotes, plans, specs and all project documentation PRIOR to order entry. Capture and document discrepancies/issues. Meet with SE to analyze/discuss project, including establishing fiscal base line, PRIOR to order entry Enter orders Establish communication protocol with customer. Conduct kickoff meeting with customer (as necessary). Establish central repository file for each project on shared drive. Work with EatonCare/plants for CA’s/submittals. Review submittal review comments and implement changes as necessary after consulting with the SE Work with SE on scope changes (pricing, spec discrepancies) not associated with submittal review Capture all (positive and negative) change notices and associated fiscal impacts. Request OSR from EatonCare Project Coordinator and pass data on to the customer. Use OSR to track estimated ship date and communicate changes to the customer in a timely manner Work with EESS on any PSE and/or EESS services related items (i.e. studies, start up, etc.) Resolve any issues with plants/customer pertaining to changes, scheduling, delivery, etc. Close out project fiscally and from a document perspective When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum one (1) year of electrical industry experience Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Electrical Engineering PMP certification Strong application of power engineered products One plus (1+) years of project management experience Position Criteria: Ability to present information to others in a persuasive way, professionally and diplomatically assert the leadership role that the title project manager conveys Demonstrated ability to take ownership of an assignment and customer satisfaction Ability to apply project management methodologies and strategies to reduce potential project risk throughout the duration of the project lifecycle Capable of planning and executing presentations on specific products and services to internal and external customers to gain recognition and customer acceptance Knowledge of major competitors in the market and their alignment with distributors and major customers Knowledge on plant front-end scheduling, engineering and manufacturing process and equipment cycle times Possess advanced computer skills in advanced word processing, spreadsheet, Vista and Bidmanager Consistent demonstration of planning, leading, and communication results from executive changes Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer service Ability to travel up to 10% We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
