Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.
This position is located in Swiftwater, PA.
What will you do?
- Perform inventory management duties to include receiving, product put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.
- General Customer Service
- Manage all activities on docks
- Keeps docks clean and well organized
- Receiving Lab consumables
- Sample Receipt
- Inbound Receipt to Purchase Order
- Sorting and staging activities
- Receive all incoming deliveries into Dock
- Contact end user to pick up package or equipment upon arrival
- Provide desktop delivery for the GCI group
- Order verification and document handling
- Deliveries on a schedule developed with customer and Site Supervisor
- Establish delivery schedule that also encompasses rushes and any special handling such as refrigeration
- Utilize basic systems to support the inventory management system.
- Remove cardboard and trash as needed (Detrashing).
- Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, Standard Operation Procedures & Work Instructions.
- Access & utilize Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
- Work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.
- Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
- Positively Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.
- Mandatory vaccinations and screenings are required.
How will you get here?
Education
High School Diploma/GED required
Experience
- Must be able to work in a BSL2 and BSL2+ environment and follow strict Stand Operating Procedures
- Communicate any customer issues or potential problems with the Site Supervisor
- Customer Service Experience
- Strong Organizational Skills
Working Conditions
- Works primarily at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments. May be required to work independently at customer location.
- Extensive walking may be required.
- Must be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs.
- May be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks.
- Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses.
- Some areas require steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
