Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Document Control Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Richmond, VA location. Pay: $22/hour Benefits (Medical, Dental, & Vision) 401K (6% total match; 4% at 100% and 2% at 50%) Vacation (Two Weeks Starting Out) Position Overview: This position will assist the engineering team in implementing engineering projects and sales order configurations into PDI’s materials requirements planning (MRP) system. The duties will include finalizing engineering documentation, part number creation, and Bill of Materials (BOM) Management. The position will also assist in organizing engineering documentation for ease of use from the Quality, Procurement, and Customer Service department. In this function you will: Support Engineering Teams with released documents that must be imported into the material requirements planning (MRP) Maintain control of documentation related to engineering design files and manufacturing assembly files Examine engineering documents for accuracy and completeness Work with engineer originating the document to resolve any discrepancies Process and Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Deviations and follow up to get approvals Populate non-active BOM’s directly on System Job Order (JO) to drive material in material requirements planning (MRP) Support Part Number creation in conjunction with Product Data Management (PDM) tool Generate Bill Of Materials (BOM) on Job Orders (JO) to support configurable product sales and provide cost data Create and update engineering related procedures Assist documentation and drawing redlines CAD support for submittal and assembly files Support of hands on-learning of products and BOM structures to ease assembly Comply with health, safety and environmental policies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent required Preferred Qualifications: 2 Year Associates degree or 1-2 years’ related experience preferred Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar programs preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with a team or individually Ability to read technical documents and drawings Excellent attention to detail, organization and planning skills Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Must be a team player that has a “sense of urgency”.
