Dongchen International School was established in Mianyang City and caters for students looking to study overseas by providing them with a full, international education that includes iGCSE, AS Level, A Level, TOEFL, IELTS and more. We are looking for teachers in the area of ESL, Business, Mathematics, Sciences (including Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Literature and History to join our International Programme from August.

Mianyang is one of the wealthiest cities in Sichuan province and located less than an hour away from the capital Chengdu. Mianyang was voted one of the most suitable cities for living by the China daily and has a large expat community, as well as a number of Western restaurant and bars, whilst still being a good example of a traditional Chinese city.

The school is fast growing, having taken on 30 new students for Grade 10 at the start of the last school year and looking to match or exceed this in the coming semester. Students have gone to prestigious overseas universities such as UCLA, UCI and Tulane U in the last few years and we hope to continue this success into the future.

A teacher at this school can expect:
16-20 teaching hours a week plus 20 office hours, flexible.
12,000 - 20,000 RMB per month salary.

The qualifications we expect of our teachers are:
A full teaching qualification
A university degree in their relevant subjects
A minimum of two years teaching courses at high school level and A-Levels or AP (Advanced Placement)

The responsibilities we expect of our teachers include:
Acting as a class supervisor, creating a positive learning atmosphere
Communicating with parents regarding her/his children learning progress.
Giving appropriate amount of homework, correcting them and giving feedback on time.
Preparing standardized school report at least twice per term.
Promoting and adhering to school policies, such as uniform, classroom rules and other disciplinary procedures.
Participating in various meetings and activities organized by school, such as staff meeting, parents meeting and school promotion events.
Providing useful information regarding university application and giving letter of recommendations when needed.
