Lead a team within the drives service workshop in the execution of daily activity (repair of faulty LV drives or manufacturing of exchange units). Ensure efficient and cost-effective workshop results that meet safety standards, order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and workshop processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs and proper productivity level).

Your responsibilities

  • Organizes and allocates resources to effectively and efficiently meet line workshop targets. Responds to resource issues as necessary.
  • Ensures that workshop scheduling meets the volume requirements agreed in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels. Adapts scheduling to changes in demand.
  • Identifies deficiencies in workshop area, proposes improvement activities, and oversees implementation of actions to improve production performance
  • Ensures compliance with Group health, safety and environmental directives and that regulations are implemented, while monitoring and reporting progress and results. Assesses risks and safety hazards and implements plans to ensure people and equipment safety.
  • Customer point of contact for commercial/technical enquiries.
  • Manage supply chain according to requirements, dealing with internal factories and external suppliers.
  • Workshop promotion. Provides support to Sales during customer visits to explain capabilities of the workshop facilities. Provides support to Marketing and Communication when required.
  • Reports to Local Operations Manager and Global Workshop Manager
  • Participates in internal/external auditing processes and certification.
  • No travelling required for business purposes. Punctual travelling to other ABB international locations might be required for training purposes.

Your background

  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Production/Lean management.
  • More than 5 years of experience in Workshop activity planning, Process organization & Quality management, Operations improvement, Technical Sales and Team management.
  • LV AC and LV DC Drives knowledge (hardware and applications).
  • LV Softstarters knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and SAP.
  • Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
