It’s being agile, understanding you and giving you all you need to thrive. The purpose of the role is to provide PM services for the East Coast Digital Programme’s Train Control Partner. The role will support the interface between delivery projects and Stakeholders. What are my responsibilities? Managing communications between Parties. Ensuring resources are in place and processes are completed to deliver projects. Build relationships with Route and industry partners. Safe Delivery of the Project with a target of Zero Accidents or Incidents. Delivery of Projects meeting the project objectives within the agreed timescales and budgets. Interface with senior management to define and mobilise the necessary resources required for the execution of the Project. Thereafter leading and coordinating the activities of the project team. Monitor Project progress identifying and mitigating risks and Issues and escalating where appropriate within the programme management. Monitor and report Project progress and status throughout the Project lifecycle ensuring timely and accurate reports are prepared as required in accordance with the Project Reporting and Review Process. Use their knowledge of the industry to build relationships and problem solve across numerous Stakeholders. Educational Requirements: Use their transferable skills to support different areas of the industry as required. Ideally candidates will have an electrical engineering background and hold a degree or HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Business or Project Management. Any other railway relevant qualifications. What do I need to qualify for this role? Experience of Network Rail policies and working practices. Experience of managing high value capital investment projects involving a high degree of Client interface (essential). Experience of delivery of projects through the full project life cycle (essential). Management of multidisciplinary project teams (essential). Development and implementation of innovative project execution strategies (essential). Management of Project Control function covering Planning, Estimating, Financial Control and commercial management disciplines (essential). Excellent communication and presentation skills – ability to deliver key messages efficiently and effectively, tailoring the approach to the audience as appropriate, in order to promote action (essential). Project Management skills – strong understanding of the hard and soft aspects of programme. management. Possess high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to build consensus (essential). Commercial awareness and aptitude – able to contribute to commercial and contractual issues, drawing upon past experience with railway / engineering contracts (essential). Experience of leading and managing a project team which may include Siemens staff and other parties. Exposure to a highly regulated engineering industry, of which some time should have been in a project role.
