The position will be split split between our Congleton and Manchester offices. As an Emerging Talent Manager, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day operational management of Siemens UK Digital Industries business’s internal apprenticeship and graduate schemes. This is a highly sought-after apprenticeship and graduate programme, with 60 learners currently on our schemes. The person will join and play a key role in our Emerging Talent steering committee, which monitors our schemes’ effectiveness, drives improvements and provides strategic direction. This is your role. What part will you play? Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our internal apprenticeship and graduate schemes. The schemes operate to develop and prepare our early careers professionals’ technical competencies and skills to successfully take on permanent roles in the DI business. It would be expected that the incumbent would spend around 80% of their time managing the apprenticeship scheme (given the larger number of learners and greater governance responsibilities), with around 20% of time dedicated to the graduate scheme. As a guide, DI in the UK currently employs 47 apprentices and 15 graduates. Manages part-time scheme co-ordinators for the smooth operation of the internal apprenticeship and graduate schemes. Drives continuous improvement in the operation of these schemes, in line with best practice, internal and external benchmarking. Day-to-day activities: With the scheme co-ordinators, the role holder is responsible for designing and managing the overall placement programme; ensures that learners obtain a broad overview of our business and customer base and their placements meet the requirements of the apprenticeship and graduate standards. Oversees effective recruitment, training, development, performance management and offboarding processes in line with required internal and external standards. Maintains understanding of apprenticeship funding system; secures and maintains funding for DI’s apprentices. Safeguarding: Undertake Safeguarding training to become a Designated Safeguarding Person. Governance: Liaise with Siemens’ Professional Education (SPE) team to ensure that the apprenticeship scheme operates in line with industry standards. Accountable for auditable paperwork to support SPE audits Ensure completion and submission of annual self-assessment and quality improvement reports into the SPE team. Maintain the scheme’s Ofsted audit readiness – requires an awareness of the Education Inspection Framework. Sub-contractors: Identify partner subcontractors and effectively manage the relationship with these bodies. Carry out sub-contractor due diligence as part of SPE QA requirements. Finance: · Responsible for the effective financial performance of the apprenticeship and graduate schemes, with the support of a designated Finance representative. Use your skills to move the world forward Experience and working knowledge of managing graduate / apprenticeship technical training scheme operations. Demonstrably strong enthusiasm for working with and developing early career professionals. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of situational sensitivity.
