Job Description

Job Summary:

The eCommerce Manager (China) is responsible and accountable for digital business development in China to achieve Hong Kong Disneyland’s eCommerce revenue goals. This includes managing our eCommerce flagship stores on Tmall / Fliggy, WeChat and other platforms, in close collaboration with our appointed Travel Partner (TP) in China, and managing the eCommerce function on our Hongkongdisneyland.com website in China.

The role is responsible for strategizing, developing and implementing digital promotions for Tickets & Hotels and optimizing our eCommerce platforms (Fliggy, WeChat, Hong Kong Disneyland.com.cn) in terms of pricing, content, usability, conversion rate and revenue. Internally, this role will liaise with Revenue Management & Analytics (RMA), Sales, Market Strategy, Digital Marketing & Social Media, Technology & Digital, Sales Operations and external sales partners.

The candidate must have a deep understanding of Media Consumption, eCommerce / Social Media behavior and the eCommerce / Travel landscape in China. We also expect extensive hands-on experience with managing Tmall-stores, WeChat Mini-Programs, Websites and Travel Partners (TPs) in China.

The candidate must have the ability to critique and advise the Director, eCommerce, and work closely with the appointed TP and internal teams like Market Strategy, Digital Marketing & Social Media, Sales and Revenue Management & Analytics to develop Marketing & Sales campaigns that drive traffic and revenue to our flagship stores. He/She must also have a deep understanding of the audiences on China’s popular social media and eCommerce platforms and provide the “know-how” to reach the millions of users in China.

Working closely with the Director, eCommerce, this position is expected to effectively manage all HKDL eCommerce platform activities in China and focus on the channels that matter to our target audience.

The eCommerce Manager requires strong business acumen, vendor management, influencing skills and a deep understanding of the eCommerce/Travel landscape in China. This role will provide insights into local business challenges, trends and opportunities, and is accountable for growing and meeting Hong Kong Disneyland’s online revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategizing, developing and implementing eCommerce plans to achieve annual business goals (revenue) for Hong Kong Disneyland’s “Digital Direct” platforms in China: Fliggy Flagship Store, WeChat Mini-Program and Website
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and stakeholders, incl. Revenue Management & Analytics, Market Strategy, Sales, Digital Marketing & Social Media, Technology & Digital and Sales Operations to achieve eCommerce targets in China
  • Analyze and optimize Traffic / Conversion / Sales / Revenue data from all digital channels to maximize transaction value and propose the best fitting products and promotions to grow our “Digital Direct” revenue
  • Identify new eCommerce partners and develop & execute partnership plans with additional digital platforms in China to grow our eCommerce revenue

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree holder
  • Minimum 6 years’ working experience with at least 3 years’ in eCommerce (or Digital Marketing / Sales) in China, including managing eCommerce Stores (Tmall / WeChat), Websites and Travel Partners (TPs; experience in travel or hotel industry is preferred
  • Strong commercial, project planning, presentation, leadership and management skills
  • Good liaison skills for business development, building partnerships (internal and external) and managing stakeholders
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Travel Partners (TPs) and platforms like TMall, WeChat, and possess a strong relationship with key industry players and skill set to optimize the China eCommerce strategy and execution (ROI)
  • Deep understanding of the eCommerce (and Travel) landscape in China, especially Tmall / Fliggy and WeChat and familiar with the major eCommerce players in China and the unique and fast-changing Chinese media and digital landscapes and mobile-first eco-systems
  • Ability to drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal responsibility. Strong analytic skills, including sales data, web analytics and campaign analytics
  • Knowledge of SEO, User Experience, Web Usability, Conversion Rate Optimization and Content Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of JAVA script, HTML, etc. is a plus
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese, Putonghua is mandatory
