With a mission to drive enterprise digitization across the eCommerce & Channel Management Value Stream Organization, Eaton is currently seeking an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist to help develop, coordinate, implement and manage trading partner set-ups through Sterling B2B Integrator to our SAP ERP. As part of the IT Commercial Operations Center of Excellence (COCOE), the EDI function is central to Eaton’s digital transformation and every contribution we make has a significant impact on the future of the company. You will be joining an expanding, multi-location team with ambitious goals for driving growth and order automation across EMEA . Following a recent re-organization to a product-driven IT model, we are focused on building EDI solutions that meet customer trading requirements in the most efficient manner. The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist is responsible for analyzing and designing required specifications for new customer set-ups / enhancements and modifications within Eaton’s EDI application environments. 2. Serving as the primary link between the business and our data-trading partners, the jobholder helps define EDI transactions and business flows, as well as creating mappings and scripts within the Sterling B2B Integrator (SI) environment. 3. Working independently, or in conjunction with Functional Analysts on larger B2B projects (who help define priority, scope and customer requirements) the EDI Specialist is responsible for timely delivery and successful outcomes in respect of: end-to-end EDI testing (with trading partners and ERP developers); full project lifecycle (on “fast track” modifications to existing partner set-ups, including the support of user acceptance testing events / schedules); implementing transactions in Eaton production ERP environments, including handling of warranty cases and support request routing; Recommend improvements to standard Eaton software, processes, EDI specifications and platforms; Represent EDI for enterprise IT by participating in large and cross-functional enterprise projects. Resolves problems that are differing, but related. Issues require advanced analytical or problem-solving techniques to identify cause. Develops solutions based on limited information and past experience. Adapts existing approaches. Anticipates future issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a graduate of Eaton’s Leadership Development Program. 2-5 years of progressive experience in developing and designing EDI application solutions Min 3 years’ experience in similar role Experience of end-to-end implementations for EDI functionality using Sterling B2B Integrator for SAP or Oracle ERP applications Expertise in creating scripts and mapping in SI for transactions conforming to X12 EDI and/or EDIFACT EDI standards Comprehensive EDI Project development life-cycle (design, build, test, deploy) within an Agile environment, including: Requirements Gathering Solution Design System Configuration Custom Development Knowledge in non-EDI integration, such as XML, flat file, web services, etc. Knowledge of communication protocols, such as FTP, SFTP, AS2 Fluent spoken and written English essential Additional language skills in French or German Problem solving skills.
