Job Description
Eaton's Electrical sector – Edmonton Power Center (EPC) is currently seeking a EHS Coordinator to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton, AB facility. This role supports the processes and department specific goals at our facility, with the following primary objectives: Works with site department managers and employees for managing the safety reports and implementing actions to meet the Alberta & EATON requirements of EHS. Works with cross-functional/corporate stakeholders to manage the documentation and training of EATON MESH program with actions plan and execution. Manages the contractors’ safety requirements as well as safety project scopes and execution. Facilitates the JHSC meeting, and safety workplace inspection walk with actions plan. Supports the Production & CI team in the RIEs for safety improvement projects. The position; on occasion, will work the afternoon shift during operating hours to provide support to the afternoon shift for safety related training, MESH audits, tool box talks, safety standdowns and other important related EHS information/communications. Primary Responsibilities: Develop the required documents of EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) and MESH Management of Environment, Safety & Health) such as incident reporting, inventory list, inspection checklist, work procedures & etc. for training employees on the safety applications. Conduct risk assessment for site-level, workstations, workplace inspection and ergonomics through root-cause analysis for practical solutions and actions plan. Take the lead to implement safety actions plan with effective risk controls through ongoing communication and evaluations with all stakeholders and employees. Apply Industry 4.0 digitalization for safety data-reporting and analysis to reprioritize the site safety focus and actions plan through daily and monthly safety data management. Arrange and facilitate the required safety training as well as certification classes for employees Manage safety observations of employees, evaluations and actions plan. Manage safety requirements of contractors as well as safety project scopes and schedules of implementation on time and within the budget of capital funding. Support Production and CI teams in the 5S+ and RIE (Rapid Improvement Event) to evaluate the safety concerns of employees and implement related safety actions. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: College Diploma or University degree in Engineering, Science, or Occupational Health & Safety from an accredited institute. 1-2 years of work-experience in Occupational Heath and Safety. Strong computer skills for Industry 4.0 digitalization and excellent writing skills for creating professional safety documents. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. This position does not offer relocation. Candidate must live within 80km of Edmonton. Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in risk assessment, investigate of incidents and managing a safety action plan. Previous experience in project coordination or management for safety-related projects. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Team, and SharePoint List. Experience working in a manufacturing/ production environment. Position Criteria: Must be self-directed in creating plans to achieve goals and dealing with multiple priorities or projects. Strong interpersonal/ communication skills at interacting with employees from a diverse background. Effective time management and project management skills. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/changing environment. Adaptable to constant changes and flexible in reprioritizing actions plan to implement. Analytical, detail-oriented in data collection and proactive in problem-solving with actions. Ability to facilitate teams/groups and work with all levels of the organization.
