Job Description
EHS COORDINATOR Job Summary: Assists the Safety Manager with implementing EHS programs and policies focused on sustainability and the eliminating occupational injuries and illnesses and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and corporate regulations. Essential Functions: • Communicate safety and environmental needs of the different areas at all levels of the organization. • Provide training to staff on Health, Safety and Hygiene and Environment issues. • Coordinate the personnel assigned to the position and provide the tools for proper compliance with the EHS Management System. • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements that apply at the local, state and federal level. • Carrying out risk analysis of the site • Investigation of accidents and follow up to actions and plans • Determines and maintains a monitoring program for inspection tours in the production and administrative areas. • Coordinate and monitor the proper functioning of the Safety and Hygiene Commission • Extensive knowledge in Self Compliance Programs (STPS, SEDUE, PROFEPA) • Experience in Management System, ISO14001, ISO450001, ISO5001. • Commitment and diligence in a high demanding operating regime. • Extensive knowledge in Supply Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems. • Extensive knowledge in Industrial Safety and Occupational Health. • High degree of confidentiality. • Compliance with chemical management in the plant • Responsible for compliance with air emissions and water discharge. • Responsible for the management, temporary storage and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to applicable regulations. Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or similar • Requires 5+ years’ experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of Process Safety Management • Bilingual skills in English / Spanish is preferred Knowledge, skills, and abilities: • Demonstrated employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills • Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills • Demonstrated professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in safety performance • Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity • Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) Organization: Smart Infrastructure Company: Siemens Industry, Inc.
