Objectives of the Position

Within the scope of BASF Shanghai Coatings Minhang site, according to the general guidance developed on the basis of EHS mandatory requirements and Responsible Care ® principles and practices, complete the routine work for Emergency Response, Security, HW disposal, Contractor management to ensure the compliance of company, corporate and mandatory requirements.

Main Tasks

• Establish and maintain management process and procedures for emergency response and fire prevention based on mandatory and BASF Requirements.
• Conduct regular fire prevention inspections to identify weakness for immediate improvement.
• Continually improve emergency preparedness through hardware installation, trainings, drills, etc.
• Maintain relevant documentations and software systems as required.
• Responsible for the site security management.
• Take charge of hazardous waste management and part of daily operation process (coordination with disposal companies, registration with authorities, scheduling of transports, data recording, etc.).
• Support supervisor for the daily contractor management, including training, file archiving, on-site inspection, etc.
• Responsible for EHS orientation training for new employees.
• Support other EHS related tasks to the EHS team.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

• Education: Bachelor degree in safety engineering or environment engineering preferred
• Working Experience: At least two years in the field of safety or ER in a middle-sized company in chemical industry.
• Technical & Professional Knowledge:
• Good knowledge in EHS management and good understanding of legal requirements and standards
• Collected experience in fire prevention and emergency response
