Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position supports environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site. Individual is accountable for: supporting EHS&S activities at Eaton Engine Valve Aguascalientes manufacturing site, including: establishing EHS&S objectives and targets, maintaining EHS systems and processes such as monitoring and measurement systems, reporting and communication of EHS metrics, collection and organization of EHS action items, supporting EHS training initiatives, leading and supporting EHS teams, lead / supports incident investigations, and supports site internal & external assessment activities and ISO/OHSAS/IATF/Voluntary certifications, communication of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; support interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; support actions during crises; site security; ensuring documents are available in the local languages. Supporting the creation of a strong EHS & Quality culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health & Security) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements. Support tracking and accomplishment of EHS&S goals and strategic initiatives for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results. Supports risk assessment to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Supports tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance. Supports and promotes zero incident & Quality culture throughout site. Supports EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year. Supports efforts to ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. Supports efforts for third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class. Provides support on using established EHS data processes such as Oracle, MESH Prism & Power BI to manage data. Support training matrices and leads training sessions to ensure that all training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan. Support the implementation of Quality Management System and will utilize CIF (Continuous Improvement Framework) tools to eliminate waste, drive and sustain improvements. Works with EHS leader and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Qualifications: Associate degree two (2) or progression towards four (4) year degree in chemistry sciences or engineering or technical field. Drive for results and willing to learn continuously. Strong analytical skills. Ability to synthesis and analysis, logical and abstract reasoning and observational ability. Ability to identify Eaton, industry, federal, state, and local EHS requirements; and customer requirements. Ability to integrate EHS with other functions Ability to facilitate EHS teams. Ability to act as an agent of change. Effective in enabling and driving change Ability to execute multiple activities. Ability to utilize company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information. Ability to conduct training. Delivering all communication with clarity, impact and passion, and adapted to the audience. Proficiency in local languages and English. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum (2) years of previous automotive industry experience in a similar position or directly related to EHS&S processes. Knowledge in occupational safety, industrial hygiene and environmental. Knowledge in IATF 16949, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001/14001/45001, Good Laboratory Practices standards. Experience in automotive manufacturing processes. It includes the ability to determine the significance of those aspects and hazards to better develop action plans to control them.
