Eaton’s Electrical Division has an opening for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager. The position is located at the Cleveland, TN Facility. Relocation will be offered! Position Overview: This position provides environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to the site. Individual is accountable for: directing EHS activities at his/her location(s); establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements, and; ensuring documents are available for the site. Position is responsible for: maintaining site ISO/OHSAS certifications; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; assuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for EHS personnel; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; directing actions during crises; site security, creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes. In this function you will: Ensure that a solid MESH program is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the requirements of Eaton Corporation’s Global MESH Specifications. Manages and directs site in achieving EHS targets and objectives Possess a working knowledge of relevant ISO 14001 procedures and Work Instructions as well as the MESH and how it relates to the facility’s EH & S requirements. Facilitates risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Maintain awareness of national, regional, state, local and other applicable laws and regulations to determine whether they affect facility operations and MESH. Establish, implement and maintain a cross-functional approach through training and supporting others in MESH criteria and the utilization of Mesh Policy Champions, teams or committees as required (involving appropriate levels of the Facility organization). Drives and promotes Zero Incident EHS culture throughout the site. Coordinate the following EH & S items with the assistance of Mesh Champions, EH & S teams or committees as appropriate: Accident investigation; Audit/ inspection; Job safety analysis; Emergency preparedness and response; First aid/ CPR teams; Chemical management; Environmental aspect analysis; Ergonomics; and Safety and health risk analysis. Track progress of Cleveland MESH deployment through the assessment process and administer corrective actions to the findings or non-conformities. Report to Staff management on the performance of the MESH for review including recommendations for improvement. Interact with other plant MESH coordinators, EHS and Op/Ex professionals to leverage and communicate “best practices”. Support plant quality and lean manufacturing initiatives in support of plant cost improvement objectives. Manage CTN Environmental contractor: 1) maintain environmental permits, RTO- Right to Operate, 2) Identify gaps with permits-performance, 3) Identify and track environmental leading and lagging indicators. EHS- CIF strong partnership. Identify cycles of improvement to the overall MESH Management system and to the context of the organization. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in Environmental, Health, or Safety in a manufacturing environment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree environmental/safety or engineering from an accredited institution. Master’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or Environmental Health and Safety from an accredited institution One (1) year supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Understands OSHA/ISO regulations Lean Fundamentals understanding Experience with workers compensation Demonstrated experience with safety programs Proven track record of safety metric performance and improvement Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams Position Criteria: This position may require some travel (<10%) ISO 14001 Audits Insurance underwriter requirement compliance Support continuous improvement efforts to meet and exceed customer requirements in a fast-paced environment We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
