Job Description
JOB FUNCTION
FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE –To work with all stakeholders onsite for effective identifying and managing EHS aspects/hazards at daily basis, including the fire prevention and security management, implementation and monitoring of Environment/Health/Safety (EHS) Process in PPG Songjiang site to comply with the applicable legal and company EHS Requirements. Work closely with Songjiang Operation team, Technical Team and RTC, etc. to set up and maintain PPG EHS management system for the continuous improvement of EHS performance in Songjiang site.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the EHS team to develop, communicate and maintain company EHS guidelines and monitor the implementation.
- Lead the EHS team to support all stakeholders for establishing, monitoring and achieving the EHS KPIs.
- Coordinate and support the site EH&S leadership team to ensuring scheduled meetings are held and that action items are developed and completed.
- Mentoring and coaching the sites EHS Management System Element Owners to implement the relevant EHS procedures.
- Establish and maintain an EH&S training system, including delivering training modules
- Initiate and follow up improvement actions required by company audit at different level.
- Develop, drive and manage Risk Assessment Programs
- Implementing the sites Management Intervention Program (MIP) and near miss reporting
- Review Capital Projects and Management of Change submissions related to the EH&S aspects and hazards
- Be responsible for EHS related governments’ liaison, to maintain the EHS permits and other EHS related regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement a strong EHS culture throughout the organization with all levels of employees through the communication of EHS processes and gap analysis, effective training programs, EHS performance appraisal, etc.
- Implement outsourced EHS services control, including outsourced warehouse, hazardous wastes disposal etc.
- Identify PPE requirement for each position and activity; develop and implement PPE using programs in Songjiang site.
- Identify and develop the risks matrix and approve relevant work permits in Songjiang site according to the PTW procedure.
- Coordinate and support the implementation of PSM programs based on Corporate EHS requirements.
- Work together with HR on occupational health checking and monitor the staff occupation health trend and condition.
- Implement the company IH sampling plan; monitor the IH status in Songjiang site.
- Support the firefighting system to fulfill company and regulatory requirements.
- Work as the security leader, to maintain Songjiang site’s day to day security.
- Coordinating the sites Ergonomics team and minimizing injuries relating to manual handling
- Setup and update the emergency response plan in Songjiang site.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all incidents according to PPG and local regulatory requirements
- Other tasks related to EHS management.
REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, safety, engineering, environment or equivalent; fluency in Chinese, fluency in English reading, writing and speaking, at least 5-8 years experience of site EHS management and prefer to work in a chemical plant, have proven experience in ISO14001 or OHSAS18001 or similar EHS management system. Familiar with China EH&S legislations and regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
