• Based in Grand Island, NY, in this position you will operate and manage the site’s 140,000 gallon per day process / sanitary aerated lagoon wastewater treatment plant.

• Key duties include:
  • Operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility to assure compliance with SPDES Discharge Permit requirements.
    • Performing required sampling, arranging for testing and preparing Discharge Monitoring Reports
    • Performing in-house analysis of key operational parameters such as dissolved oxygen, pH and chemical oxygen demand

    • Management of stormwater inspections, sampling and reporting
  • Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering and Operations on special projects, construction and other non-recurrent tasks which impact wastewater management
  • Maintaining and conducting inspection on emergency equipment
  • Performing monthly ladder inspections

Qualifications:

• NYS Grade 3A or higher preferred, but will consider Grade 1 licensee with relevant experience to work under current chief operator with goal of earning Grade 3A license and assuming chief operator duties.

• 3+ years wastewater treatment facility operations experience
• PC skills with proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
