Eaton’s Electrical Division has an opening for an Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor. The position is located at the Cleveland, TN Facility but remote work is an option.
Position Overview:
This position provides environmental, health, safety and security support to the Cleveland, TN site. Individual is accountable for supporting EHS activities at site including establishing EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates. Position is also responsible to maintain site ISO/OSHAS certification along with supporting the creation of strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site.

In this function you will:
- Champions and leads projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s) throughout site.
- Support the creation of EHS targets and objectives and appropriate activities to drive EHS culture, compliance, and world class results for the Cleveland, TN site.
- Partner with other functional teams to ensure plant projects and/or changes meet the PROLaunch and MESH “Change Management” processes.
- Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.
- Utilize Eaton’s database system to track Incidents, Near Miss, Observations and CAPAs to closure. Use data to validate the health of EHS and/or drive direction for improvements in EHS.
- Actively investigate all incidents and near misses to identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Will lead all 8D investigations for recordable incidents.
- Review site environmental permits and ensure terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency, e.g., air permits, storm water discharge permits, local wastewater permits.
- Work with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for federal, state, local regulations, and Eaton Corporate requirements.
- This position will manage the Cleveland, TN VISONS program (employee suggestions) with 2 direct reports.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree environmental/safety or engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one (1) year supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in Environmental, Health, or Safety in a manufacturing environment or a combination of those functions
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or Environmental Health and Safety from an accredited institution
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Understands OSHA/ISO regulations
- Lean Fundamentals understanding
- Experience with workers compensation
- Demonstrated experience with safety programs
- Proven track record of safety metric performance and improvement
Position Criteria:
- This position may require some travel (<10%)
- It requires the use management skills, act as a liaison for associates at all levels
- ISO 14001 Audits
- Insurance underwriter requirement compliance
- Support continuous improvement efforts to meet and exceed customer requirements in a fast-paced environment
