Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary function of this position is to develop and manage the plant’s Safety programs (EHS); and to ensure compliance with the programs by appropriate plant personnel. Support the plant’s Environmental and Legal programs (EHS) as well as Facilities new projects (EHS) within EBS Pull compliance than involves Capital Expenditure, Cost Outs and Cost Avoidance; and to ensure compliance with programs such as OpA and OSHAs 18000 by leading initiatives than comply with the criteria. Coordinates and leads activities associated with preparing for, obtaining, and sustaining the OpA and OSHAs certification as well as maintain the EHS documentation system. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health & Security) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements. Support tracking and accomplishment of EHS&S goals and strategic initiatives for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results. Supports risk assessment to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Supports tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track EHS performance. Supports and promotes zero incident & Quality culture throughout site. Supports EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year. Supports efforts to ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis. Supports efforts for third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class. Provides support on using established EHS data processes such as Oracle, MESH Prism & Power BI to manage data. Support training matrices and leads training sessions to ensure that all training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan. Support the implementation of Quality Management System and will utilize CIF (Continuous Improvement Framework) tools to eliminate waste, drive and sustain improvements. Works with EHS leader and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations #LI-AR7 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Qualifications: University degree required, with qualification in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent. Relevant advanced degree preferred professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent). English – language capability, speaking, reading & writing required 4 years’ experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training. Experience with security operations is a plus Comprehension of Eaton, industry, state, and country environmental, health, and safety requirements. High level of interpersonal skill to work effectively with others Strong leadership skills, must be capable of leading their organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement, including ability to manage large number of different projects and to track projects through completion. Through knowledge of industrial chemistry and waste control/elimination technology and practices Adapt at development and utilization of software solutions Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement team Electric safety Knowledge. Ability to act as an agent of change. Effective in enabling and driving change Ability to execute multiple activities. Ability to utilize company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information. Ability to conduct training. Delivering all communication with clarity, impact and passion, and adapted to the audience.
